View Full Version : Stupid game - When will the package arrive?

It's going to arrive today. Whoever guesses the arrival time (as in my local time - Eastern Standard Time) closest to the actual arrival time wins.

Also if anyone wants to do a <strike>20</strike> as many questions as needed questions game, go ahead and start guessing. Each player can guess as many times in a row as they want. Also, the correct answer is only going to get as specific as the general product, rather than the product plus descriptors (like as in "car" instead of "Honda Accord", or "speakers" rather than "Bose Acoustimass Home Theater Speaker System").

Also two last things:

1 - No prizes. The game is just for <strike>annoyance</strike> <strike>anxiety</strike> <strike>contempt</strike> <strike>despair</strike> <strike>distrust</strike> <strike>dread</strike> <strike>embarrassment</strike> <strike>envy</strike> <strike>fear</strike> <strike>frustration</strike> <strike>grief</strike> <strike>guilt</strike> <strike>hatred</strike> <strike>horror</strike> <strike>hostility</strike> <strike>hurt</strike> <strike>jealousy</strike> <strike>loathing</strike> <strike>outrage</strike> <strike>panic</strike> <strike>pride</strike> <strike>rage</strike> <strike>regret</strike> <strike>sadness</strike> <strike>shame</strike> <strike>shock</strike> <strike>sorrow</strike> <strike>suffering</strike> <strike>surprise</strike> <strike>terror</strike> fun.

2 - Abi was the first to do a "20 questions" game on the forum AFAIK, and I just thought it would be a good tack on game for the thread, so I added it on.

I screwed up.

Note how in the following quote, I said that I was just looking for what it is (plus or minus any correct descriptors if there are any):

Also, the correct answer is only going to get as specific as the general product, rather than the product plus descriptors (like as in "car" instead of "Honda Accord", or "speakers" rather than "Bose Acoustimass Home Theater Speaker System").

If no descriptors were used to describe the general object\stuff\etc, then there would be LOTS of color variations.

If you used descriptors on it, there is only one color.

Either a mention of what it is minus any incorrect descriptors would suffice for a correct guess of what it is, or also a mention of what it is with the correct descriptors would also work for being a correct guess.

Daydreamin's 2 "common" questions - I personally would say that it's common in the US.

If descriptors\specifiers are used, then yes, white is the only color.

Not a set of items - it's just one thing. Not cutlery.

Not crockery.

Some people use it multiple times a day, and a pretty decent amount of people in the US have never even heard of it.

Not a bread bowl.

Not salt.

Does not prepare food.

Is sold in many different stores.

It can be rock solid (or near rock solid). The localish (well relative to the rest of the world for you and me, Daydreamin) polar vortex will make a lot of it harder today and tomorrow and yesterday.

Is served in restuarants.

Although a restuarant might give it to you by itself, they would almost never expect you to ingest it by itself.

There is no typical serving size.

A typical serving size at a restuarant would usually fit in the cup of someone's hand, but referring to it as a serving size doesn't really fit IMO (making a judgement call here on that last one).

The stuff from which you make this SPECIFIC stuff is grown. Other versions of this general kind of stuff are made from grown stuff, and others are not made from grown stuff.

I think most of this SPECIFIC stuff is made on non-continents! For the non-specific(s)\descriptor(s) kinds, I'd say either Europe or North America would probably be the biggest producer.

This specific stuff has no taste, but most other styles\varieties of this kind of stuff has flavor, and there are lots of different flavors.

Although this specific stuff isn't too common, the general stuff (minus specifier(s)\descriptor(s)) is VERY common in the majority if not vast majority of the world.

The reasons I use it:

1 - It's almost two thirds medium chain. The medium chain fats get treated WAY differently than the longs chains, and contain less calories than the "nine calories per gram" blanket statement that you always hear about the calories per gram of fat.

2 - Low carb diet I'm on most of the time. I like to substitute this for more fattening fats.

3 - Dirt cheap.

All I know is we need Omega-3's but therapeutic dose amounts don't work in us like they do for other people in the world, because our diets is filled with Omega-6. It is also in everything we eat... like oil is.. i'm not sure what form.
AdHD children have less omega-3 strands than Normal Tempo ones.

Omega 3 and 6 supplements (or oily fish like tuna and sardines) are definitely excellent for the brain.

Pretty much nobody in first world countries would be better off mentally or physically from supplementing omega-six. Unless they're eating a low fat diet and\or purposely avoiding taking in lots of omega-six, then they're almost certainly taking in too much omega-six. Inflammation is a cause and\or exacerbater of lots of neolithic disease. Diseases we (meaning first world countries - especially the US) had much, much less of a century ago. Omega-sixes are pro-inflammatory, and omega-threes are anti-inflammatory.

Okay... so... I have a package arriving on Wednesday or Thursday. You may assume that it will not arrive earlier than 700 AM nor later than 600 PM SA Standard Time

It's now Tuesday 218 PM SAST.

The package has not been shipped yet.

Game 1: Guess whether the package will arrive on Wednesday or Thursday, and at what time SAST.

Game 2: Guess the main item in the package.

GO.
