View Full Version : New Usergroup - Research Assistants
Research Assistants are volunteers that research and publish medical information related to the forums.
The group is free to join, like the chat committee, etc. Members can join at the link in their User CP, or at http://www.addforums.com/forums/profile.php?do=joingroup&usergroupid=23
Members get a special "Research Assistant" title. Special recognition will be given to those Research Assistants that consistently produce and post relevant researched information.
Shoot fire sign me up ... I love to surf....(puts on wetsuit and ask for the nearest board shop) seriously let me know what would be a good direction to head. For instance .... What various items do we need? ie..... medical info on recent withdrawl of adderal xr in Canada?
RhapsodyInBlue 03-16-05, 05:17 AM I would very much like to do this, as I love researching. What type of things do you want us to look for? Will you give us some guidance, and where do we post what we find?
~Viktoria :)

We'll identify specific topic ideas soon, but feel free to pick one on your own in the meantime :) Research should be posted in the relevant section of the ADD Forums (i.e. Med-related research should be posted in the meds section, Bipolar research in the Bipolar section). If there is a topic that doesnt seem to fit in those sections, let me know...we'll find a place for it :)
Research can ALSO be State/Region/Country specific...so if you want to focus on your local area...let me know, we'll have you post your geographic-specific research in the respective regional forum section.:)
When posting your research, I would ask that you start the title of your post with "RESEARCH:" so people can clearly identify the content if your posts.
Thanks Viktoria, TTJMOM and everyone else who has expressed an interest in this.

I think that's an excellent topic to start researching, TTJ :)
Gregster 03-16-05, 05:05 PM So how will this work? Will there be a thread named "Research" in the Adderall section, for example, where everyone will post whatever they find, or do people start individual threads? One thread that's stuck to the top would work. Or do we add a section to the Medications area entitled "Research" and start threads there? A separate research section in the medication area might be better - that way the research thread isn't at the top of the Adderall section and the first thing a newbie reads - sticky or not it's going to be an active thread for Adderall!
I think that each thread should stand on its own, in their respective sections
Ooooo! I'm all up for this :D In fact...I still need to finish my post about CBT and adult ADHD.... :o

sosninity 04-30-05, 09:37 PM I'm an academic librarian and have access to nearly everything that's ever been published, as well as the skills to find, evaluate, and select information. I'm not sure if it would be a violation of copyright to publish entire articles here, since it would be for educational purposes. I believe it would have to be for a limited time, though (the equivolent of one semester). But I could quote up to 10% of anything and be within the guidelines for fair use.
