Was the best part of Summer for you??

I think the best part of my summer was when the one person I look up to the most told me that she thinks that counseling domestic violence victims was my calling and offered me a job even though I was still in the dv shelter and techniquely, I am supposed to be out of shelter at least 6 months before even volunteering. That was the best day of my summer and also the day I realized that those I look up to had more faith in me than I had in myself.
by the way, i finally talked to my DV counsler tonight about that one post and even though we didn't get far, i think it may have been worth it.

I never eat macaroni and cheese. It was my craving before I knew I was pregnant with my 3rd baby and I ate so much I never want to eat it again. However, I moderate an awful lot of it dishing it out for the guys and their friends.

I felt all grown-up physically when I had my first baby. Yeah, it took me that long. Puberty I wish to burn from my memory, first love wasn't anything to brag about and marriage was nice but I still felt like a young lady.

Well, I did scream a week or so ago after a horrible disagreement. It was a rather petty thing to scream about but it felt good. Actually this is a fairly new hobby for me. So it's slow-going as funds and time permits. Also it takes a while to get a page done because I'm still learning the techniques, there's the creative "blocks" (what the heck should I do with these?) Double bag it, you won't have that icky smell or particles of trash blowing around.

I use the white kitchen bags and then I use a great big black bag to put all the other garbage bags in. I live upstairs though so I feel like the garbage santa coming down the stairs.

We live in a small town so people let their darn dogs roam free and they get into my trash can unless we double bag. So, I just put a large black sack in first to protect my trash can from getting all stinky and then a white bag inside that one for the trash and close the white and then close the black one into a couple of knots so no odor attracts the beasties to my house.

Wow I never realized how much work that sounds like. lol

The True and Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters -- i didn’t like it. can’t remember why … didn’t seem like the main character really experienced much inner growth. the writing style was somewhat engaging, but, the characters were too flat.

The Probable Future by Alice Hoffman – i liked this one a lot. i can’t believe i haven’t read any alice hoffman before! characters had depth, writing style flowed well, interesting mix of realities.

Eventide by Kent Haruf – couldn’t get into it, read maybe the first 30 pages or so. i read the prequel, Plainsong and remember liking it. i might pick it up again later. but, it’s knitting season, so, we’ll see….

The Devil in the White City – a narrative history … interesting, but dragged a bit in places. writing was a bit sensationalistic.

Haven't started it yet. One of her other books was an Oprah Book Club book.
It's called Here on Earth by Alice Hoffman that was a good one.

well i used to be called sarita at one of my jobs and it kinda stuck. I tried to get that same username on aol when i opened account there but it was taken... so i chose sehrita for there and everywhere else pretty much.

I have been with him a little over a year.... we actually met online at MYSPACE back when the site wasn't so bad. We discovered we live only 15 min away and also had mutual friends.

I prefer to view them both at the same time. The beautiful sky with white fluffy clouds and green green grass bring me peace when seen together.

I can't say that I regret any one big thing in my life because I see mistakes as a way to learn about life. I could say that I regret ever picking up the bottle but I do not because recovery has made me a much stronger person than ever. Same goes with the drugs and other big whammies in life.

If anything, I regret the small things. For example: being ultra defensive to those I love, or me reading into things and seeing issues that aren't there. I regret those because they are the first things to drive a person away.

Yes, I have always lived in California. Although I did work and live at a youth hostel in Colorado for 3 months. I would pick Colorado to live in if I had any other choice. I prefer the mountains, rivers, aspen, lakes, etc... to any ocean or desert here in California. I also like the wide open spaces of Colorado... Always brings me a sense of peace.

Bored... naw. I have two really close friends. One I have known since I was 15 and the other since I was 21 (I am now 29). They are the greatest friends I could have. :)
