Hi everyone!
I`m a tryathlete... meaning I try triathlons. I`ve been doing them for 4 seasons, but have never been able to get into a program, so my times are near the back of my age category.
I usually just ride my bike to get to work, which is great, since I live 11km from school... but I`m moving onto campus on the 15th, which makes the commute about 6 blocks away.
I have everything set up for me... a nice bike to train on, free access to two olympic sized pools whenver I want, two different weight rooms (one at the pool where I work, one in residence where I`m moving to), friends who are on the national swim team for tips...
I have social anxiety and ADD so it has impacted my ability to go outside and train... or train at all.
If anyone would like to help me out with ideas or try training with me, that would be great. Even just `exercising together` online would help, as long as I have someone around who I know can relate to me. Everyone around just says `just go out and ride`... my boyfriend and I joke that I should try his training program called `ride your damn bike training program`... meaning I should just get on the bike and ride without worrying about what kind of workout, how long, how hard, how fast. He`s pro-elite cyclist, so he knows what he`s talking about I guess... but I know that he can`t totally understand what goes on in my head with ADD. He has anxiety as well, but it never seems to have stopped him from riding.
Anyway, any thoughts, comments, support? Positives only please! I`ve been battling this for several years, so I`m pretty frustrated with myself over it.
I know I have the potentital to be a strong triathlete... after all I usually just go in without training and `race` and finish them.
