ATTRACTION TO MATH TEACHER ,in my not so distant past give or take a few years whos counting, i really struggeled with starring at peaple for no particular reason. in my grade school days no problem teachers called me a day dreamer.but as i became a teen ageer this became a major social issue me as starring became more noticable with my pears also when they would look my way i would turn red and turn away this was not good for a boy starting to notice girls were well ,pleasent to the eye, then in 9th grade as a 15 year old sitting in the front row of the class room with a young lady teacher about 25 years old , i would say attractive, well at the time very attractive ,and in them mood days [the 70's ] the girls and younger ladies wore minni skirts and hot paints and halter tops. so here i im sitting in this frount row of math class with this great looking teacher wearing not so modest clothing ,all i can remember is every stich of clothing clung to her body . i hope im not afending any body with this descriptionof my 9th grade math teacher. any how here i am trying to learn math  forget it, no math would be leaned that year. Then it came the most imbarrising moment in my youth, as i was starring or glarring with to many hormones running thru my vains ...... my not so modest dressing math teacher pointed out to me in front of the hole class that the math poblem was on the board and not on her :( :( man i was crushed and i mean cruched ever see that commercail want to get away ,well that was the time for me. this 110 pound teacher just turned one of the biggest jocks in 9th grade i was tall for my age i played football hockey baseball and was on the swim team. Good thing passing grades werent required at that time to play sports. I was reduced to nothing zero, although we laugh about it now, then not so well life went on thank goodness :)

do add'ers have more of a problem with starring issues or is it just being distracted i have leaned to cope with this , instead of turning red and trying hard to pretend i wasent stairing . this is how i think i get away with it by smilling back politily with just a freinly nod. beats turning red is this a common trait among add'ers

I like to share this story of my youth ,with my religion class i teach ,[but not as discriptive as i just wrote ] who are ninth graders the importantance of modest dressing and beleive it or not they are listning, and even though we think they dont here us ,they do.

I will say the meds do help , i havent caught my self starring very much it is something im concious about. now days  this certainly helps to not embarress myself in front of my wife.

Yep, I stare, but I don't know if it's an ADD thing like my mind is wandering and I'm wondering as I look at them what their favorite color is and are they inlove....or is it just a people-watching thing (or in your case a hormonal thing). I'm sure your wife thanks you. I hope I don't still "irk" people the way I did in highschool.

People, Todd. I only notice "personality". It's always been like that for me.
And no, I wouldn't notice someone staring at me:confused: ; I'd be the last to know:rolleyes: .

No Todd, you didn't offend me at all. I think I understand what you are saying. You are saying that you stare at people for no real reason. Is that correct? :)

Of course you don't mean any harm. I didn't mean to seem so irksome. And I know it's not just a hormonal thing for you, you probably just noticed it being a "problem" during an hormonal time for you.

I don't know if I can answer your question, if it's ADD or not but let me try. Your mind is wandering and searching for something to capture its attention. Something does. A person, something they're wearing or a peculiarity, it holds your attention, a little too long, you start to hyperfocus on the "thing" that has captured your eye, and in a blink you realize you've just been staring when you really meant to glance or look once. That's my theory but if someone has a more complete thought on the matter I wouldn't mind hearing about it.

chel thanks , i would 'nt mind either, hearing about it but i do agree about the wandering part ,and the mind catcher ,come to think about it ,a picture is worth a thousand words and for me 1001 just kidding. and just one more thought,i think i agree with all of it .jokingly i think its time for me to to buy dark sun glasses. and move on to my next imperfection. [....sereiusly thanks evey one this has been helpfull. todd

Yup, I can relate to this as well. Only I tend to stare at anything, not only people. In elem. school, I was famouse for staring out windows... I guess it's part of the Inattentive type...
