I have bad ADHD. I've had ADHD since I was 5 years old and it is genetic in our family. My nephew has ADHD, my niece, my sister, my mom. Then on my dad's side, is depression. Anyway, I have a very aggressive type of ADHD. When I was 18 I had to be diagnosed for it again so that I would continue to be able to take the more serious ADHD medicine.

I have a very strange side of ADHD, it's mixed ADHD of course, but I find that I can't do anything without good concentration medicine. I got accepted to the University of Michigan, and am hoping for acceptance to the University of Pennsylvania. However, I've tried a lot of stimulants.

If I can't concentrate, I can barely read, write, process thoughts correctly or even speak coherently. Yes, I have a learning disorder, I can still barely tie my shoes. I see one of the best doctors around, she got her doctorate in London, England doing heart surgery day in and day out. She has ADHD and is an ADHD specialist.

She knows how smart I am, and she also knows that the smarter you are with ADHD, the greater the disadvantaged you are with your thinking and tasks.

I HATE stimulants. I'm sick of not smiling! I'm sick of not being happy! The problem is, I was dropped a lot as a little baby. Parts of my brain were switched off, and others replaced in respect to those areas switching off. I suffer from really bad aggressiveness.

I've tried: Ritalin, Metadate, Concerta, Vyvanse, Adderall, Strattera I think even - they all make me angry and not hungry. Please, someone help me find a stimulant that won't make me angry and not hungry. I want to do good in school. But it's not even a case of I need a stimulant to do well, it's a case, I need a stimulant to read my ADHD is so bad.

Right now I'm on Metadate. My doctor retires in June. I need to find the right ADHD medication. And CRAP like Wel-butrin NEVER worked for me.

I suspect that given the amount of stimulants you've tried, you're going to have to augment the stimulants with a mood stabilizer. Have you considered talking with your doc about this?

Are you talking about seroquil?

I'm on medication right now to help my moodiness. Clonidine for sleep and Citalopram 40mg to help stabilize my mood.
