View Full Version : Is there a anti-psychotic that does not make me sedated?

I'm on risperdal 3mg and it's making me groggy every morning having a hard time getting up. It takes me a LONG time to get going in the morning and my ADHD makes it worse focusing and studying things. That and it still makes me sometimes fearful in public. The real side-effect is that it makes me sedated during the day and I have to drink coffee to counteract that to study and work. Even then I have a hard time studying with the coffee. I'm not on any stimulants at the moment. What do you guys/gals recommend!? I've read up on Abilify as it supposedly is a partial antagonist to the D2 receptor and it doesn't make people as sedated? Would that help? What about the newer ones (not a-lot of studies out yet I see) like Latuda or Saphris? Or even Seroquel? Thoughts?

Abilify or Latuda would be your best bet.

Definitely not Seroquel.

I take Risperdal too but only half your dose. I'm thinking of changing it as well. I would be real curious how Abilify works for you or not -- if you change to that. Please feel free to PM me. What are you taking Risperdal for?
