Adderall is a bit stronger, on a mg for mg basis than Ritalin, and it will last longer - you'll notice a bigger difference with regular release formulations. Amphetamines (Adderall) differ somewhat from methylphenidate (Ritalin) in the mechanism by which they work and that they increase the amount of dopamine AND noradrenaline available in the brain, which makes them more stimulating - AMPH will tend to increase BP and HR more than MPH will. I find the added noradrenaline makes a big difference to me, particularly w.r.t. procrastination and motivation, but individual reactions are different.
I found the "crash" far less pronounced with amphetamines - ritalin can be worse because it wears off faster.
