If we didn't have the 7 unconditioned emotional responses systems (primary level of control, deeply subcortical).

SEEKING (+)
FEAR (-)
RAGE (-)
LUST (+)
CARE (+)
GRIEF/PANIC (-)
PLAY (+)

Would conditioned emotional responses (secondary level of control, upper limbic), and, emotional self regulation (tertiary level of control, neocortical) exist/function?

I don't think conditioned emotional responses and emotional self regulation would exist/function, if we didn't have the 7 unconditioned emotional response systems.

(1:45) ...FEAR for example is down here in the brainstem.

It's a really really primitive emotion, circuits are fully mapped, that's one of the core emotions.

RAGE is another core emotion.

And then SEEKING, the desire to get out and explore.

And then [GRIEF]/PANIC...

Hi, first of all I take back what I said about the fear love polarity being superior, as that was very speculative and based on my history of the polarity being more useful to me than most other descriptions of existence, and perhaps also based on Fortunes abuse of the razor ;)

I am too much in read mode for a vid, (kind of manic lol) but I like temple and will at least check that soon.

But what I really like is the 3 spheres of existence. Not that I will bomb this thread with them, but just letting you know I already have a lot going on with this sort of existential psychology or whatever you want to call it.

Are the conditioned responses given in a specific way like the unconditioned?

(First) from the ground up, unconditioned emotional response systems (instinct) + emotional experiences = conditioned emotional responses and emotional self regulation.

(Second) then from the top down, emotional self regulation + conditioned emotional responses + emotional experiences, strengthen or weaken, unconditioned emotional response
systems.
