Hi all, after a 5 month 'vacay' from concerta, my wife told me it's time to start again because I am a lot more consistent and 'present' while taking it. As such, can anyone give me some advice on staying healthy while taking it, like do's don'ts and general tips? I like a huge coffee in the morning, but thinking decaf may be the way to go. Thoughts?

My psychiatrist told me to take it in the morning, as it might cause insomnia (and it does, if I take it in the evening) after I eat (so I don't get any stomach problems). Otherwise, I have no side-effects from it, so I have no reason to believe it might cause long-term health issues. If you've never had a heart control and an ECG, it's best you get one, just to be on the safe side. And, of course, if you have any side-effects, tell your doctor about them. Coffee and anything with caffeine is not recommended with stimulant medication.
