Hello,

As you know, everyone requires a different Ritalin dosage, which is determined by weight, height, and severity of ADD/ADHD.
So I wanted to see how different the dosages are between people here, and to understand what are the usually average doses.

So please write down here your Ritalin dosage and weight so we can all understand what are the usual doses (just write Weight and Dosage, height and severity of ADHD not necessary).

I'll begin:

My weight: 61 Kg
My dosage: 60mg Ritalin LA (which is equal to 30mg Ritalin IR twice per day).

If you DON'T feel comfortable writing down your weight publicly here, please write the proportion of your dosage to weight.

For example:

If you weigh 50 Kg and take 20 mg Ritalin IR (Instant Release) once a day, your dosage is 0.4mg/kg.
The calculation used here is: 20/50, which means that the formula is: Dosage(mg) / Weight(Kg) (divide the dose by your weight in killograms).

So if you don't feel comfortable telling about your weight here, please write the proportion here, in mg/kg per day. I'm just curious to know what usual doses are.

Thank you very much,
-DarkGhost909-

Back when I was healthy I used to take a total of 40-60mg of Ritalin per day (Ritalin LA 30 in the morning and 1-3 tables of Ritalin 10 in the afternoon and/or evening). I weigh around 119-120lbs (54-55kg). My dosage was around 1mg/kg.
At some point I got sick and my body couldn't tolerate Ritalin anymore and I couldn't take more than 10mg once a day, 5 days a week. My dosage was around 0.18mg/kg (certainly not enough to control my ADHD symptoms).

Currently I am about 160 pounds and my dosage is

40MG in the morning (30mg LA = 10mg)
10mg in the afternoon
and if I have something really important to do in the evening I'll use another 10mg

currently 135 lbs and i take about 15MG twice a day. not sure if thats a enough, it use to be work wonders for me but i notice a tolerance now to the medication. not sure if i should up my dosage or just take a few days/week or two off from the medication to lower my tolerance.

I take 5mgs three times a day, and it seems to work really well for me. I know it's a low dose, but medication always seems to hit me a lot harder than other people. I tried Concerta and it did nothing for me :umm1:

Hi. I am curious when you started on Ritalin and what your dosage was if you don't mind telling me.

I was on Ritalin when I was age 6 to 12. My dosage was around 5-10mg for 6 months then upped to 30mg of which 20mg was SR and 10mg was IR.
In total I went through 15.5 grams.

Happy new year! :D

Not sure if you were already aware of this, but for this type of drug the dosage per body weight makes no sense and doesn't provide any useful data. The important ratios are those of the drug to the various neurotransmitters in your nervous system.

roughly 70-80 mg/day. I take 20 mg of Ritalin in the AM (immediate release) and wear the 30 mg Daytrana, which really has 82.5 mg per patch and 30 mg is what you get from wearing it for 9 hours but I wear it for 14-16 hours so I get approximately 50 mg or so from it.

100 pounds girl, 90 mg (30 mg every 4 hours, 3 times) of Ritalin daily. I've been on Ritalin since I was 5 (I'm 22 now) it might have something to do with it, but even as a kid I had high dosages. I have extreme hyperactivity, so it may influence my metabolism too, I don't know. I've heard dosages aren't determined much by weight.
