After considering recent member feedback, the administration has decided to recind the "minimum 25 post" rule for posting URL's at the forums. All other forum guidelines still apply. Please re-acquaint yourselves with the forum guidelines, especially the new entry:

*Signatures and websites linked in signatures and posts must be family friendly and must must not be blatent attempts to sell products or services.The Website linked in your signature must include a reciprocal link back to www.addforums.com (http://www.addforums.com)

This new guideline will apply to all new posts and existing signatures. Please check yours for compliance.

How many links are allowed per signature?

Not exactly an "offical" response, despite being a mod, but I'd say use good judgement and don't go too crazy. I could deal with 3 links, as long as the sites had their reciprocal links back to addforums.com, but 30 might be over the top even so.

Officially, I would like to see the number of signatures limited to two (2) external (other than ADD Forums content - or Internal) links per signature. Total number of links in a signature should not exceed three (3) links (internal and external combined). Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis, at the discretion of the administrators.

Your signature is something that appears after every message you write, unless you turn it off. You'd have to set one up in your user profile if you wanted one.

Links are just web links like this (http://www.addforums.com). You can put up to 3 of these in your signature. At most two of them can be to web sites other than addforums.com without explicit permission (should not be a problem, since you can always link to your personal "links" page, if you wanted to.)

Andrew's signature (signature = the writing bellow the solid black line you see on many posts) has both an internal link ("click here" takes you to another page on ADD Forums), and an external link ("www.bigsplace.com" takes you to another realm -- for lack of a better word :rolleyes: ).

i hope this info. helps clarify rather than muddy the waters. :)

Ah now I understand!!!!!!!!!! Links are websites that you would recommend to others to visit......Great thank you both for clearing that up for me...I have come off the confused couch for now :)
