oh okay........if I have to be serious, I shall(but it will only last a very brief time)

Melly, how about cooking for your mom her favorite breakfest & supper. Then, is there a place that the both of you enjoy going to together, that is not overly costly??

Rent movie, make popcorn, play cards or games, etc are some ideas for the evening.

still think you should color a card for her!!!

Okay I am not a mother but have lots of ideas. Minn when that happens and the marker gets on the wall frame that spot. It is part of your child's creativity. Make the child feel special. :p :D

Mel, as kids we made mom something special, like her cards. My sister crossed stitches a poem about her feeling towards mom.

What about that poem you wrote about your mom. That is special. Do something with that in your own creative way. Whether it is a card or writing it out in callligraphy and framing it. How special is that.

My mom always tells me all she wants is for me to respect her. She doesnt want any thing from us just our love and respect. I think all mother want that . Do something special that you normally hate to do. I did the dishes with her one time I think easter. Hope this helps.

Melly it is not what you do hun, it the fact you remember her. Even something simple as baking a special cake to show her you care and love her. It isnt a competion hun dont go there like I did with my sister.

Be you cause that is why your mom loves you . She loves ya both . You are spcecial because you are YOU.

Hi Draga!!

I like to give my mother things for the garden. Once I gave her a basket with garden gloves, a new trowel and hand tools, some shears, a garden book, and a small plant all tucked inside a pretty basket with a bow. Other things I have done are birdhouses, hummingbird feeders, and garden trolls.

Another thing that I do for my dad every year is go to the farmer's produce market and fill a big produce basket with fresh vegetables. I get a mix of things with lots of color. Tie it with a big bow. Pretty cool.

My family ate at the cracker barrel this evening. I don't know if you have been there, but they have a great gift shop and so many different nostalgic DVD's- Beverly Hillbillies and I love Lucy, etc. I thought that would be a hoot!

Later,
Annie :)

Draga I usually give gift themes around a movie.
The last one I gave her was the movie Chocolat with five wrapped boxes
of different chocolates. Stacked on each other.
LOL It was called the tower of chocolate.

Run with the theme...make a card on the puter featuring some classic items she might appreciate...the Mustang (or go older), etc and on the front "You're A Classic, Mom" (iow, she's special, treasured, has increased in value as she and you have gotten older) and put it with her most beloved shows.

One year I made my Mom a memory book. Pictures of us, her Mom, etc, and made lists and blurbs of my favorite memories, what I like best about her, what I've learned from her, what we have in common, the way I like to spend our time, the way she makes me feel special...it was an affordable present to treasure, and it wasn't very fancy. A pretty, blank notebook will work.

Now I have to think of something for my kids to make for their grandmothers who are long distance.

 Bless you Chel! I remember I scanned a bunch of her baby pics and wedding photos...I remembered a long time ago I wanted to make her a time line calander.

She told me she wanted a wig for mothers day...(she hates her hair) I dunno..."Cover that bald spot, Ms. Clean." does not seem to be as centimental Ya know? :eyebrow: :faint: :foot:

My sister and I got together this year for Mother's day and I scanned photos of all the kids and their kids and her beloved pets through out the years and a great picture of her. Printed them out on iron on paper and we made quilting blocks with the pictures and in the middle is the poem I wrote about our family. She's gonna cry like a big ole baby-isn't it fun?!

From Garrett I want lots of cuddles and kisses. From Koda and Lexi I want clean bedrooms, chores and homework done without a fight and from Doug I want some "us" time.

The entire quilt cost us about $100 and that was because we cheated on the really hard part and paid a neighbor $50 to sew the pieces together. lmbo

Awe that is sweet! Mom got a nice mothers day gifts(plural) from me.

1st was the timeline calander
2nd ....I always do something around the house when she is not home that she is never suspecting....this year...her carpet in the room is worn out...over 20 yrs worth of cats and dogs and spilled drinks..she's been wanting to take it up before we move. Well....yesturday..I got right on it....and did the easier half and we decided on her day off....we'll finish the rest together.

Her wig is still on the way LOL!

The huge surprised smile on her face after a long days work was a present to me :)
