As part of a thesis (http://hdl.handle.net/2077/36752) that deals with the non-stimulant treatment of ADHD, it appears as though a subset of people with ADHD-PI find significant symptom relief through treatment with Omega 3/6 fatty acids, and that such response is correlated with changes in serum Omega 3/6 fatty acid level ratios.

What is interesting is that not everyone responded to the treatment, but those who did showed pretty significant clinical improvements. (This was measured by clinician rating scales, but that generally corresponds to real-life functioning pretty well).
