A few of our members have asked me where I get my Avatars ... I make them. :D

For a very short time (10 requests only at this time) ... I will be taking in some requests for custom Avatars.

Here are the only rules/suggestions/guidelines:

Please provide a short saying/quote you would like on the Avatar. Be sure your wording follows the forum guidelines ...
Please give me an idea on the *kind* of image you would like. The images that I use are royalty free images ... I will not use copyrighted images. No nudity, violence, or things along those lines ...
Allow me a few days (tops) to complete each request ... I am only one person and i work a very fulltime job - I will be using my free time to do this.

I think that about covers it ... :)

I love images. I have scads of them. I'd never want to cramp your style though. You've been around me long enough to have some guesses as to what I'm like. Maybe if you find an image you think might complement the quote or me or both or something in a totally different vein, I'd be tickled to have a custom avatar.

I would not want it to be rushed at all. Wait until something strikes you as right. If and when that happens, I'll be pumped to have one of your efforts!

Ane I'll have to change the blue eye. I'm a brown fan. :D I know it's not fashionable, but the dark is better suited to me. Bottomless. My youngest has eyes like mine. At certain times our eyes appear black. Her eyes remind me of the subtlty of a dark ruby. I have a 3.5 carat cabochon cut, in a heavy shank that I like too. :)

My wife and I were married with very plain bands so a few years ago, when I was flush, I scoured the continent for some stones I liked. I ended up buying more than I needed but recently one came in handy for a ring a friend made for our eldest. It's very stout, but she has taste like mine. That's her's in the image attached. The stone is a star sapphire.

Colours, images.. mmmmm and Ane's are so tasty!

ane, i've got some ideas for ian's avatar. hope about some nice bright colors. neon even!!! and it should be a swirly thing -- the kind that'll hypnotize you if you stare at it. it goes without saying that it should rotate, counter-clockwise. and whenever you click it, it should start blinking.

Ah, this is sad. I'm too tired to make a good avatar. And I was just told that the one I had was--well, I'm being semi-redundant, but the avatar was too sad. So now I've got to get another avatar, lest I depress anyone...but I have too much work to do and can't have any fun.

I need one like Garry's really, even my mom said so a while back when I visited and used their computer...she glanced out of the corner of her eye, loved it so much she made me save it to their hard drive. Said "That's what you look like in the morning, Chrystine!!!"

How about something where a girl has her hair tied up in a bun and secured by a Viagra pen (doesn't have to be Viagra, but hey, dad gets pens from drug reps, and that one works the best on my hair...if it's around, I use it.)

She's trying to write a paper, but there's a little kid wearing one Blue's Clues slipper and one black high-heeled boot, mardi gras beads and three different hats, all of which are too big, in the midst of an open mouthed, obvious, screaming fit. (Probably about fruit snacks. Lack thereof, I mean.) Ooh, maybe he could be, like crawling on her (literally, like up her side and actually hanging, clutching a shirt sleeve with feet on hip.)

Maybe it's hard to picture. That happens at least once a day, though, so it would well-represent what the folks on their end of the 'net aren't seeing when reading my posts!

Perhaps it could be a picture as though one were standing behind the girl and viewing the monkey-child while scaling the viagra-haired girl, who's hunched over a keyboard?

I'd say perfect ;) one more thing...I'm NO longer a blonde :D I've gone red well the red was on accident but my stylist assures me that it will be med. brown with red highlights in just a few washings. :eyebrow:

Sure! I will let you know if the quality is "good" enough to work with ... If it is a digital cam picture then yup ... some regular camera shots are not always good though.

Hi A Needed Change!

This is a very nice offer you have made. I am not sure if you have already been too overwhelmed with requests, but if not, I would like to put in my request.

If you can find a pretty bird of some sort (doesn't have to be some beautiful exotic tropical bird, your average blue-jay or cardinal will do just fine), and if you can fine one that is either in flight, or even better, a photo of a pretty bird at the moment it is alighting on a branch (or on whatever), with its wings still partially out-stretched, that would be awesome! No words. No movement, just the bird. Preferably a photograph, but a cartoonish image might work too.

Again, if you have already received enough requests, then don't worry about my request. Only make me an avatar if you will enjoy doing it! And no rush. I am too flighty to be rushed. :)

You don't miss much do you? Heh.. She's just turned sixteen and I took her out last night just the two of us. She ended up playing a jambay drum in a band all night. The CBC people were there recording some clips for the "Shaken not Stirred (http://shorterlink.org/239)" show. We ate some cool West African food and enjoyed the intimate ambiance. We were treated to some tremendous singing and some fun stories.

The treat of the night was the discovery of local singer Erik Quess (http://shorterlink.org/240) who stood in on many of the songs.

Next month I'm tempted to read "The elephants child" there if anyone knows that classic. There is an open mike prior to the show for that kind of thing. There is nothing quite like live music.
