Hi,

anyone has Limbic ADHD (http://www.additudemag.com/slideshow/61/slide-11.html) combined with Over-focused ADHD/OCD (http://www.additudemag.com/slideshow/61/slide-7.html)?

Is difficult to find meds for this type because withe Over-focused ADHD meds tend to create anxiety. Anyone with same conditions could recommend some meds?

thx

I've never heard of such a thing before. Is this something widely accepted?

Dr. Amen is the only one who claims there are such sub-types of ADHD.
It used to be six, apparently he has added another one now.

The concensus of those who diagnose and treat ADHD is that there are only
three sub-types: Hyperactive, Inattentive, and Combined.

If you don't already have anxiety, then don't worry about stimulant meds
causing it. If that happens, adjust the dose or try a different med.

If you do have anxiety, treating the underlying cause may make the anxiety
much less bothersome.

If you're really concerned, ask the doctor about trying a non-stimulant like
Wellbutrin or Strattera first.

Some people find a combination of stimulant med and SSRI to be effective.

The first step is getting a diagnosis that takes everything into account.
Please go somewhere other than an Amen clinic for this step.
