I have a nephew that's thirteen and struggling...with grades and all of the items related to puberty, coming into one's own. Like his uncle, he has ADD of the Inattentive type.

When I was a kid, I can remember my parents getting upset and asking if I were on drugs because my eyes had a glazed over look. Well, my nephew also inhereted that paticular genetic attribute and also gets the glazed look. The first time I noticed it was around two months ago...and I immediately asked myself if my nephew were taking drugs. In the next moment, I laughed at myself and said omfg, that poor kid looks just like I did and still do if I haven't had enough sleep.

I've never read of this characteristic being associated with ADD. But was curious and wanted to ask the question.

My sister is having a much easier time, with some of the issues that come up...having grown up with me. But still, she worries is she doing enough as a parent? And when that kid is failing...it's heart wrenching.
