Never had any exerience with anything other than Strattera. It takes 4-6 weeks to fully work. So don't expect to much to soon

Strattera takes at least 3 weeks to make a noticable difference and like motorbrain said, about 4-6 to reach potential. Don't expect results until then. Understand, rubberband?:)

I did feel some changes immediately - but it wasn't a life changer right off the bat.

If you are feeling pressured to get results and expect it to come in pill form I'm not sure that you'll get your wish at least immediately.

Like an new skill or tool it takes time to become adept at using focus. I'm still working on it myself. :)

You've a lifetime of coping with ADD and although the meds will help you focus, they won't change your learned behavior. There are some coping mechanisms that you might have to deconstruct to make the best use of the medication. Don't give up - give yourself time to learn.

best,

do ritalin and adderall require the same patience?

Nope. At least not with ADDerall Immediate release. You can tell a difference within approximately 30 minutes of taking it. Although, it takes a few days for your body to adjust to the med.

i'm just curious, why does straterra take so long then?

Strattera works in a different way than stimulants do, more than that, I'm not sure why there is such a difference. Once at a theraputic dose, Strattera doesn't really take that long to work - I think in practical terms it's more like a week or two - but it takes a while to build up to the theraputic dose, and side effects make it better to build up slowly.
