I'm taking about 15mg of Desoxyn and I'm overwhelmed with a sort of drive to just "do" things. It's as if I don't have the ability to step back, think about what I need to prioritize, but I'm sort of following the trail of task after task without discretion.

Would this be considered being hyperfocused?

Perhaps so. I also see in your sig that you're on Lamotrigine. Are you bipolar?

This could be the early symptoms of an episode.

I don't think it's hyperfocuse. I have this feeling. I try to make the most of it.

Yeah in fact I don't see the problem :). For me that sounds pretty great!

so,

"things" < need? / want?
"do" < apply->complete? / engage?

i'd take a look at your medium term "momentum" and moods when the desire to do is not present. these should be fairly good litmus tests of whether then said behaviors are on the right track or other....

for some... it's a matter of method.... and pacing / mindfullness ( being present ).... but it can be influenced by heaps of stuff...... i.e.g. perpetual avoidance ).....

can you read? ( concentrate? )

My dad took some of my mum's once and painted the entire outside of the house in one weekend.

Sounds more like not being able to control compulsions to me.

Wait, are you taking that and Vyvanse? Methamphetamine and something that becomes amphetamines in 30 minutes to an hour? If you are too driven while not doing anything that you needed to get done, that's not helping your ADD. I've been like that when I was taking 90 mg of instant release adderall for two months(couldn't afford the other stuff cause at the time I didn't have insurance but complained about how 60 mg of instant release worked a total of 4 or 5 hours followed by a crash.)

The extra 30 mg tablet made me start writing lists, and getting into puzzles, odd math questions, talk about baseball and basketball stats with girls who were like, who, what team... when was this? I also realized I worked out too much(over an hour of cardio after lifting weights), and felt like I was forgetting to do something always having to be on the move or rearranging my room. I did that at least 10 times. I would over clean, brush my teeth like Patrick Bateman including flossing for blood, get bored too fast and end up more impatient than ever. I did feel like I was superman in the gym, and suddenly enjoyed doing laundry and organizing every closet and the garage. Time went by really slowly too.

When I first started stimulints I did this more than I should. You can take to much or that drive is internal restlessness. I found and this took practice that the stepping back practice is something you have to teach yourself. What started the ball rolling for me was a meditation specialist. He taught me the mindfulness meditation and I started to do it less. Now I almost instinctively do this.

Sounds like you are overmedicated. Did your dr give you both vyvanse and desoxyn?
