that the time they post is messed up?.... I posted this morning, one say at 4:45am it was 5:45am I'm pretty sure. My post that say 8:00 am were posted some time after 9:00am.

Not a big deal....just seeing if others have noticed

Yep, I've noticed that too.... Seems like my post times are 1-2 hours off....

Yes, someone I was PM'ing to yesterday and I noticed it.......I believe, what happens is eventually all the correct times are given for every post....In other words the wrong times are not there permanently.....I've seen this before...

You'll notice on the bottom of the main page of ADD Forums, the following line:

All times are GMT -5 hours. The time now is XX:XX XM. That is the SERVER time. When you post to the Forums, the server time stamps each PM and post.

Hi Andrew,

As usual; I was thinking differently.......here I go again.

You said:

My understanding is that the SERVER timestamps every post; and then display's the time based on the TIME OFFSET value you specify in your user profile under EDIT OPTIONS.

for each person, the forum software changes the time they see to times relavant to their time zone. a post by me at 7 PM will look to me to be at 7PM; but to you; it will 3 AM as that was time in your time zone.

I think i'm siding with the ladies Andrew as I saw it as well. I was shown as posting at a time I was definately at work. I also was seeing the last post time on the thread index saying one thing; and the time stamp of the last post saying something different.
They should be the same; no matter what time zone.

Hope this in some way helps....

While your explanation makes sense, apparently our forum software/server wants to act differently than the rest of the world (ya think IT has ADD as well?).

In any event, I'll bring this to David's attention again, and see what we can dig up. This may need to wait until the next major Forum Upgrade, which we'll be announcing soon, I hope.

Thanks :)

Does anybody remember that song by Chicago "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It is"? (and the lyrics go "does anybody really care"):D

Andrew,

I don't know if it is still happening to others; but all my times are looking all ok again. Maybe the server was low on meds the other day.
