For the past month I have been using a great software package that is available under the GNU license(it's FREE). In the past, I have been using an outlining program on my Palm in conjunction with the "Getting Things Done" method (www.davidco.com (http://www.davidco.com)) This sofware package was recommended on one of the GTD forums that I frequent and I am sold on it(figuratively since it's free).

This software is an active ongoing project being developed at SourceForge by project volunteers. There is a great deal of info at their project page which includes comparisons with commercial mindmapping software. Personally, I think that it's as good if not better than some of the commercial software.

Personally, I have gotten all of my projects into the program and identify the "action" tasks with available icons. I print a current copy each day and then handwrite notes as the day goes by(which keeps me from getting lost/distracted on the computer).

I first downloaded the 0.7 version and then downoaded the 0.8.0 R2 beta version the next day. The beta version has alot more features and I have not had any problems with bugs, etc...

I hope that this helps some others in the forum!

Well it looks interesting but when you click on download it shows you about 8 different files of various types and extensions.

Do you download all of them 1 at a time or am I missing something

I discovered this software the other day while looking for interesting projects on Sourceforge. It has definite potential. I've found it excellent for planning and scoping out my ADD ideas. I do the initial ADD idea deluge and then drag and drop the various ideas into a coherent structure.

It stands up against the commercial alternatives, definitely something I"m going to be using more in the future.
