Here is the science as explained on their website
http://www.dorecenters.com/doreprogram/science.shtml

the program
http://www.dorecenters.com/doreprogram/program.shtml

I skimmed this quickly and haves doubts. Sounds like they explain this to be a problem of wiring. That the wiring isn't big enough or developed enough and that exercises will make it work better. I don't believe that this can be done in the short term or that it would even help at all.

Anyone else?

well, to my knoledge, you cant "teach" a person out of this dissoder. What you can do though is teach them to better cope with it. Teach them alternative ways of doing things and methods to work around their limitations. <insert the "im not a qualifyed person" dissclaimer here>

The program works but not the same progress for every person from what I can see.

I am involved in a group in the UK that is using the Dore program to great effect, however some of the children are not progressing as fast as my son David who was diagnosed as dyslexic by the educational phycologist through his school 2 years ago aged 8, he has been on the Dore program for 10 months and has made fantastic academic progress but the biggest change is in his self esteme and confidence, he is a happy content little boy and is well worth the money.

For our family we went with out a holiday last year but felt this was worth it just to see the change in him as a contented little boy, one other aspect that has pleased my hustband is Davids sport has improved and he is now playing in the school football team and his sports teachers are saying his abilty to focus has increased 100%.

By the way I was very sceptical when we first signed up and couldnt see how excecises could help but they do and the program is very scientific , you can see the progress measured on the computor system each time you go back for the 6 week check ups, but you need to be prepared to supervise each 10 minuate session and I think this is why it doesnt work so well for some folks as they leave thier child to do it alone.

Hi Param Mandeep

I don't have Aspergers myself but I do have a step relative that I strongly suspect of having it.

I see you're from Australia and that you're looking for advice, I can give you the address of a great Aspergers website if you don't already know of it and it's. www.asperger.asn.au and this is Australian owned and operated and the people on there are great and you'll get advice from Asperger sufferers themselves and families, partners and friends of those with Aspergers and you can get advice on almost anything.

Also if you're son is interested there is a Asperger youth forum as well.

I hope you get the information you're after soon.

Selena:)

...and I would also encourage you to seek advice from those with Asperger's that are members of the ADD Forums. Though I'm a little biased  I think you'll find that we're a knowledgeable and helpful bunch. Your son is also welcome to join us here :)
