On the main page you have a scrolling banner in the Latest News for ADD Forums box.

The first thing i always do when i open that page is close that little window. The scrolling text makes me bonkers.

Can you make it not scroll???

If there is just one news item, there is nothing to cycle through ... so it doesn't need to scroll does it?

And could each item go through like a slide show, so the text doesn't move at all, but, every 5 - 10 seconds a new item appears.

I miss any new news because I just can't do the scrolling text thing....

this is a little gripe, very trivial really. i only bring it up because i'm willing to bet that if i'm having a problem reading the scrolling text, others are too.

thanks for your attention. :)

Unfortunately, no...we can't make it stop scrolling...though we DO intend to add new news items. I'm sorry its annoying, and when there is no new news, we will turn the box off.

i usually just close the box using the little arrows thing in the upper right corner.

when i do that for the forums i don't read, those boxes stay closed when i re-open the main forums page. but, for some reason *every* time i go into the main forum i have to re-click the button. can that be changed?

For the news box only? I'm not sure why its not staying closed for you. There are no additional settings I have at my disposal with regards to the news box. I'm sorry.
