Today my niece would by 11 months old ...
This is a hard anniverary date ... so many friends had babies at the same time, babies that are turning one. And though I'm so glad their celebrating, but it's a sad reminder of the little one we're all still missing.
I could use your warm thoughts and hugs today.

Gentle reminder: You and your sister will learn to dream new dreams and lay the old ones to rest when you are ready do not let anyone tell you when the time is right, you will know for yourself.
Confirmation: Slowly, one by one I lay Jacob's dreams down and pick up a new one for my surviving children and sometimes one for myself; but, only when I'm ready to let go and not one second before.

thanks for you kind words and thoughts.
i know i'm sad about this, but, it's setting off something else. i can't put my finger on it, but, it goes deeper than losing my niece. it goes deeper than how scary it is watching my sister walk so close to the edge....
journaling is a good way for me to get at those undercurrents, so, i best get to it.... :)

do you think that maybe you just don't want to be alone right now? have you contacted your sister to see if she'd like to go out to lunch just you two girls? maybe, she is waiting for someone to reach out to her.
