I was on adderal. It worked to some point.
I am now on straterra. It too works to a point.
My Doctor suggested that we combine the two. Has anyone else been on both? She requires an EKG prior to going on the two.
She is also thinking of changing two of my other meds. Darn and I thought I was doing good. :p
Hi Emwell -
I've been on 15mg of Adderall XR and 80mg of Strattera daily for a couple months now. It seems to be working well for me, no bad side effects.
Wow - she requires an EKG? Scary. I had bp problems on 20mg of Adderall, so I went down a dose. Adding the Staterra hasn't been a problem though.
Hope this helps :)
The EKG is due to chest pain, which might be med related. It could also be lung related.
I have my EKG and blood tests (this was ordered months ago, but never got it done) today at 2. I can handle blood tests, but have major anxiety over the EKG. They better be able to work around my bra. LOL
Thank you for responding to my post. I had little to no side effects with either med. I don't expect a problem when they are combined.
I can't remember what dose of adderall I was on. I was surprised when she suggested both.

Some doctors will do an EKG before prescribing stimulants - it depends on the doctor and symptoms. Pretty easy, no pain test - it's as easy as it gets for a medical test - can't really see a down side to it. Stress EKG is more work 'cus they will run you til you get close to your maximum heart rate - they start off slow and go up in stages - takes anywhere from 9 to 18 min - I lasted 15 min.

It would be better to combine Adderall with Wellbutrin. Adderall targets both norepinephrine and dopamine receptors. Straterra targets only norepinephrine. Wellbutrin targets both.
