I stumbled upon this article on signs children/teens may have ADHD (http://www.printfriendly.com/print/?source=homepage&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.midwestacademy.net%2F2015%2F1 0-signs-your-teen-has-adhd%2F).

It states:

"Symptoms of ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) vary from person to person, and can be mild or severe. Teens with ADD will not have hyperactivity, but will share many other symptoms.

If your teen has 6 or more of the following symptoms of ADHD or ADD, it’s time to get an assessment."

These are the signs listed:

Always fidgeting and can’t sit still (general restlessness)
Over-talkativeness (might interrupt others while speaking)
Disorganized and forgetful (often doesn’t remember appointments or social engagements)
Loses track of time and is often late (getting ready for school on time without parental help is difficult, even as a teenager)
Loses track of homework assignments and due dates regularly, which can cause poor academic performance (teens with ADHD are more than 8 times more likely to drop out of school than their peers)
Difficulty controlling temper (angry outbursts, hard time controlling emotions, intense emotions)
Slowness to learn from past mistakes (even very consistent consequences don’t seem to help your teen learn from his/her mistakes)
Focused on own feelings and own interests (may have difficulty maintaining long term friendships or romantic relationships and may seem selfish)
Sleep problems (trouble getting to sleep at night, awakens tired and irritable, and may have frequent conflict with parents and teachers over being late for school)
Lack of self control (frequent impulsive actions cause problems at school, with friends, while driving, and at home)
