Hello!
This is a first time thing for our family. Our son has all the signs for add/adhd. We are trying to find soothers for him and want to get him a lil pup friend. I wanted to see if there was any programs that help him get one. I was even looking for after he's tested if he can get a certified puppy at low cost anywhere. I'm not sure where to look or start in all of this so any helpful tips are welcome!
Thank you for reading!

I went "Googling" your question to see if I might find an answer, and the comments of an ADD Magazine article (http://www.additudemag.com/adhdblogs/4/6558.html) got me thinking about therapy dogs for children with AD(H)D. I hope this link will help you, or at least give you some resources with which to start your search. :)

Do you want a therapy dog, service dog or a pet? If its the first two then you would have to reach out to people that have experience placing dogs with people with disabilities. If its because you want a pet I caution you. Taking care of a pet can be a full time job and should never be something that you just do to see if it helps. It should be something that the family chooses. Another thing is an adhd child will have trouble with all sorts of things like self care, so they may have issues taking care of pet.
