I don't know what you should try next - there are other drugs that are used to treat ADHD. Strattera of course & Wellbutrin is one anti-depressant commonly used. Other anti-depressants too - particularly ones that affect noradrenaline, like Cymbalta, Effexor, Remeron, and Serzone. Tricyclic antidepressants help a lot of ADHD sufferers - amitriptyline, imipramine, desipramine are all used for ADHD, from time to time. Buspar helps some people. "Atypical antipsychotics" are helpful, alone or in combination - Respirdal (risperidone), zyprexa (olanzapine), Abilify (aripiprazole) are drugs of this class. When used for ADHD and comorbid conditions the dosages of these is typically very low - far less than would be used for schizophrenia or Bi-polar I.
A lot depends on how your ADHD manifests itself - the choice of drug, alone or in combination will depend on symptoms. A "racing mind" symptom, for example, is more likely to be helped by a drug like Respirdal or Zyprexa than by a more stimulating drug - especially if the stimulant hasn't helped so far - the same is true for "rage", as far as I know.
Keep in mind that I am NOT a health care professional, all my knowledge is self taught and my practical experience with ADHD is limited. I mention all of the above medications because you asked and to let you know that there are still many different things you can try. Alone or in combination - there must be solution to your problem, it's just a matter of finding what works best. Hopefully you've got a good doctor who will be able to figure it all out.
Good luck,
Greg

Respirdal, yeah that can be used to slow your brain down so that you can think with out "chatter". A good deal of the time it is used if someone is hearing voices, so that might not be the thing. Zyprexa is bi-polar (more often then not used in case something has to be done fast, bi-polar wise) and also for schizophrenia. I am not a doctor but usually they do not perscribe zyprexa for hyperactivity and respirdal I am not sure about if they would use it for that.

All antipsychotics - or mood stabalizers - can and are used to help schizophrenics and those with bi-polar disorder - they help keep the mania in check and the "voices" too. When used this way they are taken at high doses.
These drugs also help with a racing brain, and rage and other symptoms of ADHD when taken in much smaller doses - they are dopamine antagonists. They aren't used for hyperactivity, per se, and they aren't likely to be the only drug used - they supliment other medications - like stimulants, when particular problems exist.

i was on a combo of adderall and wellbutrin SR for a while and the two together really made a HUGE difference. i have had issues with temper/rage in the past and for some odd reason or another the meds helped my anger a lot! however i found out a two weeks ago that i am allergic to wellbutrin. it gave me chronic random hives. i went through an emotional crash and since then have replaced the WB with cymbalta...being on it for a week and half, i am back to where i was and i think that it is working better than the WB. the only side effect to cymbalta that is bothersome to an extent is the fact i dont eat hardly at all now...i was eating alot less with the adderall but now, im not hungry nor desire to eat. i have dropped almost a half size in a week and half...i am now having to use boost high protein drinks to give me nutrients. since starting the adderall, almost two months ago, i have dropped 30 lbs. anyway, sorry for the long post, meds are wearing off now if you cant tell...but i think that cymbalta is great so far...too bad the adderall doesnt work for you....i think that it is a mircle med!
