For those unfamiliar, ESTJ is one of a number of personality designations in the Myers-Briggs personality type spectrum.

Here is a partial list of ESTJ-heavy careers. (http://www.truity.com/personality-type/ESTJ/careers)

One general career path that the ESTJ personality type tends to follow is "management". Supposedly, the ESTJ personality type is especially well-suited to that type of career path. As it happens, I am a manager in my company.

So, is anybody else here an ESTJ?

What kind of manager? I can't see ESTJs doing people management, but maybe project management.

I've managed people, projects, budgets, but can't say I did any of it well.

Come to think of it, can't say I've done anything particularly well.

In response to WheresMyMind...
I'm currently a production manager for a building maintenance company, which means that I manage personnel as well as materials. It doesn't pay a spectacular wage, but it's better than the majority of available jobs in my area. I sort of "fell into this job" when I came across a Craigslist ad. As it turns out, I'm actually pretty good at this, especially when I'm on my Methylphenidate (ADD med) and BuProprion (anti-depressant), and when I am on top of using my Franklin Covey day planner.

As to WHY I'm pretty good at this...I'm still working that out in my head.

Evil overlord is an excellent career path.

Birth order usually has a lot to do with our career choices.

I think this is the first time I've seen an ESTJ online and saying they're ESTJ.

Cool.

Where I work there's a guy who applied for a slightly different occupation in the same working place, some kind of leader. He was interviewed for that and he told me he'd made some kind of personality test. The result had showed that he's profile was that of a typical psychopat. ESTJ? I asked and he confirmed.

By the wat, he got the job.

I am the opposite of ESTJ: INFP (though I think I may have grown towards ENTP). Based on some sources and on my own observations I think that INFP is (by far) the most common personality type among ADDers, so I expect ESTJ people to be very rare here.

Also, I do not consider to become a manager, managing my own life is already enough of a challenge ;)
