Is there any pills for Bi polar that does not make you feel like a zombie? I mean can you still have fun with friends? Can you still get excited or happy? Can you cry? I know the emotions wont be as fulfilling, but will you still have any? Can someone tell me how it feels? Thanks

Have you tried Lamital?
I've been on it since January. It takes awhile to get in your system but it is worth it. You have to start out with a low dosage and build your way up to the amount that works for you. It has really helped to level out my moods. I had no sexual side effects and once it really kicked in no emotional problems either. No brain fog, no zombie feelings. It has been a Godsend for me. I had almost no side effects and just last week I started taking Adderall with it for the ADD.
So far so good for that combination as well.

What meds that you've taken make you feel this way?

The zombie affect is usually due to drugs in certain classes. The antipsychotics almost all do. Certain antidepressents do. But certain drugs do well for certain stages of bipolar cycling and with all meds your treatment will have to be taylored to you. If your doc puts you on something you don't like. You stop taking it and you end up right back where you started. (I'm not telling you to stop taking it I'm just telling you how most of the population would react. Also speaking from experience.)

I agree though that if appropriate Lamictal is a great choice and it is now approved for treating bipolar. Best of luck tayloring your meds to fit you perfectly.
