I'm 68 years old and I can't seem to do anything is the short of it so my doctor gave me 5 mg. of Ritalin to take twice a day. So should I take it as needed which means take it when I need to get something done like housework or paperwork or just take it twice a day anyway?

Hi, and welcome to ADDF!

How did your doctor tell you to take the Ritalin?

In general, since ADHD symptoms often affect not only paperwork and housework, but also driving, relationships, general organization, etc., medications are usually prescribed to be taken on a regular basis, daily.

Maybe structure you're day and take the medication at regular intervals.

I think they tell you to take when needed to help with challenging tasks.
