I am independently employed and purchase a new insurance for 200.00$ a month but it does not cover any mental health issues. So, I was tested and my psycologist said it seems I have ADD and referred me to a neurologist or psychiatrist for meds etc... but dont have coverage. So, are there governmental agencies, state or otherwise that can help, also i am a college student , well trying hard to be one successfully. What an uphill battle this has been! If some one can help it would be eternally appreciated:confused:

If you apply for medical assistance, they cover the mental health, for your visits. I get it for my son that is 9, because our insurance didn't pick the M/H up, and we were paying outpatient costs. Good luck, and I hope you are able to get coverage!!!!

Definitely look in your local phone book for community mental health agencies. Even if they cannot help you, they can help you find someone who can.
