NO!!!!
I live in Baton Rouge. End of May to early October It's Hot, Real Hot, Damn Hot. Humid too!! Rest of the year is rather pleasant. The trade-off for the heat is, "What is this snow and Ice you speak of?" *blink* *blink*

I just love the sun!
and omg soccer - Euro tournament is being held in france it starts next month
Im dreading one thing though, the city gets miserably hot and some of the older trains have no AC
and no homes or apartments either and well no matter what we do this top floor apartment is a nightmare once there is any kind of heat wave and it doesnt cool off at night...

Summer is great here. Very low humidity, hot during the day, very cool at night because of the altitude. I like it!

Oh I can't wait!
I live at the base of some very beautiful mountains, and there's tons of designated camping and picnic sites all the way up the mountains (many of which are near lakes).
Me and my mom plan on hitting every single campsite that has a picnic table this summer and just sitting by a fire for an evening. There's dozens of them, so we'll be going up multiple times a week.

I'm SO looking forward to it.
I've also been collecting small board games we can take up with us.

Unfortunately, it's still a bit too cold (I think it's snowing up there as I type this). The main road up through the mountain is still closed and wont open for at least a few more weeks.

My favorite drink is a diet cherry limeaid from a fast food place called sonics. They use sprite zero and their cherry syrup they use is sugar free...first time I had one, I was blown away by how delicious it was! How in the heck can something with almost no sugar in it, taste that divine?
Amazing job of quenching a thirst too!
/sadface.jpeg though...the closest sonics to me, is almost 3 hours away.
So my favorite summer drink is sprite zero and diet 7-up...they just taste great to me, and they're super refreshing!

Silly Miss Miss!

Bears only try to nom nom my face off for a snack when I'm trying to sleep in a tent! :p

That is a big thing though...haha I'm SO scared of dang bears xP. They scare the living heck out of me.
I've got a TON of camping gear, and a really nice tent...but I never use them cause I'm such a big chicken of bears.
It sucks lol...cause I'd love to stay up in the mountains. But dang...I get SO paranoid laying in my tent at night, that it's just not fun.

Favorite summer drink is pure clean water infused with freshly grown herbs, fruits, and veggies.

Some favorites for that are mint, lemon balm, lemon grass, basil, thyme, cucumbers, any citrus fruit, strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, etc. No added sweeteners necessary.

Pure and simple hydration, as it was meant to be. All the other processed stuff with added ingredients of the synthetic variety causes me to become dehydrated and incredibly inflammed and achy, which defeats the purpose of drinking, in my mind.

I used to dearly love (and live off of) beer, gatorade, and pre-made processed lemonades in the warmer months, but gave all of those up in exchange for improved overall health. Cheers, y'all.

I used to think it was awful that the closest Sonic drive in was 30 miles away.
It's all about perspective eh?

I love the fruit slushes at Sonic, half price drinks and slushes from 2-4 pm. :D

And May through September they have half price shakes from 8-10 pm. My favorite is pineapple cream shake.

Snow in May? I guess it makes sense since it's mountains. I love snow. :D

Yes!!!!!!! Psycho - I was exactly talking about the cherry limeades in my post above FROM sonic! I haven't had one in a couple years....maybe that will change. ;)

7-up is pretty good. I only really drink it when I am having trouble eating/drinking when sick....to get my blood sugar up.

I. Can't. Forget. My favorite drink!!!!!!!

Canada Dry

So good!!!

(I'm a little excited, if you can't tell ;))

I also love mixing Fanta Orange with Sprite.

I used to walk over to a Sonic with my friend who I worked with at an assisted living center. (This was in highschool - and the sonic was across the street from the assisted living center) It was a perfect time to go so we'd sneak out and buy some cherry limeades during Happy Hour.

And I think you might have just changed my life with the last bit of your post -

Shakes half-off from 8-10pm!??!! :)

I too love the cream pie shakes. Didn't know they had pineapple. I like to ask them to mix together the chocolate, coconut, and I think banana into one shake. (It's no extra cost)

Ahhhh there aren't as many of these kinds of drinks here! and no Sonic in MN when I go back, those sound absolutely delicious.

I love lemonade, and iced coffee.

I forgot to mention some of the nicer things in summer:
-before dinner drinks, outside
-someone will have a barbecue. Which here means actually an outdoor meal that lasts at least 5 hours.
-so much vacation! the city kind of starts emptying out mid July, it's a whole different atmosphere.
Tour de France :)

I wish I didn't react weirdly to caffeine or else I would love iced coffees. So delicious.

Before dinner drinks, hanging out relaxing...that does sound nice!

Oh wow I didn't know there would be such a noticeable difference when people leave for vacation there!

It's crazy! a lot of people take at least 3 weeks off in summer.
some of the shops just close in August in our suburb.
Paris just empties; by mid august it's super quiet everywhere because the people who left late July are still away; and the others leave those first 2 weekends in August.
lots of tourists, though :)

You put such a nice smile on my face this morning Bells :) I love your excitement! lol

...there's a few local casinos around where I live. They use to be super cool in that every week they'd give everyone $10 in free slot play.
Me and my mom did this for almost a year. We'd go to at least 1 of the casinos, and play the free $10 through a machine...and then we'd stop and cash out with any earnings we'd make. We NEVER spent any money with each other, and if we made a profit on the free play, we'd never use it. We'd cash it out.
And we saved all our earnings for the year.

All in all, between her, me and my dad...we made almost $1,000! All in cash.

The biggest casino (which has a couple of fancy restaurants attached to it) also does awesome things for your birthday month.
This month was my birthday, so they gave me a $20 ticket to use at one of the restaurants...and $25 in freeplay on the slots.
It's my dad's birthday month as well, so we actually got $50 in free play (and my mom had $10). We just played the $60 in freeplay a couple of days ago, and made a profit of almost $65 :D

Anyhow, all said in done...we're near $1,200 now is cash we have saved up...and we've been saving it specifically to use for a vacation.

We're hoping my dad will be up to heading to minnesota this summer. My uncle has a 'cabin' (lol we call it a cabin even though he's expanded it into a very large, multi story home.) right next to a lake (haha...find me 1 home that isn't near a lake in minnesota! :p). It's our favorite vacation spot in the world. I've got zero bad memories of the place. It's always been so magical to me.

If my dad's not up to a trip, then me and my mom are planning on going to vegas...but we'd go there specifically to do FREE things! I don't even think either of us would really gamble...we'd spend the entire time going out of our way to find cool fun free things to do, and it'd just be a freaking blast with her (haha my dad would SO ruin this for us...which is why he couldn't come. He's such a Debbie downer, and he's a HORRIBLE gambler. Damn addicted).

I'm hoping for minnesota though!
I'm SO going to riddle Aeon and Stef-Stefs with questions on good places to eat and places to visit around the twin cities if we go. I've only been to the mall of america once, and I SO want to visit again. This very likely would be the last time me and my parents will ever travel there together.

omg...I'm in such a talkative mood tonight!
I keep visiting new threads and rambling on and on! xP

I can't do coconut ... chocolate, peanut butter and banana!

And Butterfinger shakes ... but Spangles does those the best.

I saw a video for making your own Coke slushy ... I want to try that.
