I stopped drinking over 4 years ago. Since then my bad productivity is down even more. I seem to have more of a problem concentrating, doing lectures and in general it seems harder for me to grab the right words when I speak. This became such a problem that I was sure I was showing the first signs of Alzheimer’s. After seeing my doctor, who sent me to a shrink, I was diagnosed with ADHD. Now I take strattera which seems to help me with my memory problems but does not do anything to improve my concentration. When I was still drinking and needed to get something done a glass of bourbon would settle me down and I could get some work done. Was this “self medicating”? Does anyone have similar experiences? Suggestions?

Thanks

Greg

Strange that you would say that because my roommate who also has ADHD

if he drinks more than not he can get so much done. he is not taking any meds at this time because he's sick of them right now. and none were working for him.

I don't really have any advice or what not for you just wanted to let you know your not alone in being able to live a day to day life with a few drinks to help jump start your brain.

just be careful and safe about it!!
