When sitting through English the other day a noticed that there were signs up, they have been there scince year 8 but I never noticed them. These signs said " You are Are responsible for your own actions". Now this seems decent you may think. But the area is a bit of a thug/punk place, this is ferny grove I with most of my friends live father away at Samford. NOw to the sign I didn't like it because I know some people who got susspended because of people bulling them into doing it, I mean I have heard of people commiting sucicde because of it in this school (the school isn't that bad really it is just the few people), Like the othere day because we don't have lockers money was stolen and bags were opened like mine but I had nothing in it.

The real reson I hated the sign was because, my friend had been bullied into doing something which I will not write here, anyway they did it then were forced to suffer the punishment. I have seen/heard (not romours) that people are trying to join forces and are being forced to wag and all, and in my veiw they have no choice if they don't want to be bashed and shunned.

I have not had much problems with this because I was in a group that was popular already (no I don't bully neither do my friends because we have no reason to). Another reason is that some people are really stressed out and we all know that people do strange and dumb things when stressed out.

Added the school has pretty harsh punishments because it some 2000 students to look after, so therefor the poor peopl with low self of steam are bullied and in my view tutroed into doing things that are hurting them in more ways then one. Even when they do pass tests of wagging here they are accepted but are the muke who has to do everything.

There is nothing parents can do, it is like a battlefield out there, there are the innicont (me in most cases), and there are the fighters who hurl food over long distances (in Aussie land you bring your own packed lunch because our cantteens work differently) so there are usally no teachers, and it is not nice being hit by a coke bottle and what have you. Oh I forgot the victims, the nerds or something usally although sometimes it is because to groups meet who shouldn't.

For example yesterday a bit of a fight broke out and someone ended up in the bin the was full then they were spat on and no one can do anything much except dob, and that doesn'tstop because when they come back they do it all over again.

There is alot of tenstion right now so there will probalvly be a fight soon agian I will post when it happens.

(sorry this turned into a rant but it is as bad as wwii OUT THERE)

There was no fight today because the teacher came along to fast. Maybe you guys should ask your kids if their school is anything like this. (make them tell the truth then you'll be suprised.

Please, define these words for me. Wagging? Muke? Dob?

I agree the sign is a little out of date. But, in the end we are in fact responsible for our actions. If someone were to tell me that I had to beat my neighbor over the head with a bat I had better have proof that they were forcing me with threats of physical harm, harming my children, etc or I fear the courts would hold no mercy for me. She's a very old woman. Its not fair I know but it is life.

Has anyone spoken about the things that go on with school personel so that someone can be on hand during lunch hour? What about your parents? I've heard that schools everywere are becoming battle grounds and I think back to the little witchy spats we had and think WOW I thought I had it bad, its nothing compared to what my kids face everyday even in a small rural town.

Well, you don't like your world, my kids don't like their world, I don't like their world. What are some suggestions within reason on how we can go about changing the situation? I'm serious here you face it everyday, something I never faced so maybe we should brain storm what we can do to change the world around us. I have a feeling there are far more bullied kids then those who bully.

wagging= someone who does not go to school usally without parents knowing, in other words they get to school then change and head into the city for the day.

Muke= probalbly a typo meaning Nuke although I can't see it anywhere.

Dob= means tell on someone for doing the wrong thing.

It is not a small rural town Ferny, it is more of a suberb. But samford 5 ks down the road os a rural town, this is the Ausralia is set out. There is an option of going to Mitchy but that is even worse but then again I am not getting bullied. I think the reason is that I could take down any of the bullies easily. Teachers are not that helpful, they only catch one in five oing something, they have a pretty big area to look after.
Here is the school website.

Reminder that it is only 40 or so people causeing the trouble while the rest of us 360 are lucky while about 50 are bullied (not certain figures just a rough guess). People can try and get parents involved but if they can't prove they did it there is nothing they can do.  :o :o

Hi all I think this should be moved to the Education place but oh well. Anyway there was a fight the on friday, it was bettween the 2 leaders and their worshipers were hurling food everywhere it took 3 teachers to break it all up alot of people ended up getting six day suspentions. That will not stop it as they are comeing back in six days.
