Anyone know anything about deprenyl? It allegedly enhances brain levels of both dopamine and PEA and is used for Parkison's disease and off-label for general anti-aging.

I'm wondering if deprenyl might help my ADD symptoms - primarily feeling scattered, overwhelmed and unable to concentrate on a regular and consistent basis (as required in the workaday world, or at least in my workaday world).

So far, I've had unsuccessful experiments with Strattera, Adderall, Ritalin and Wellbutrin on the prescription side and l-tyrosine, bacopa and fish oil on the "natural" remedy side. I'm beginning to despair of finding a solution; hence, my interest in off-label drugs.

I would like to bump this thread. Selegiline has demonstrated success in multiple clinical trials at Pubmed. Is anyone using this?

It is called Selegiline. Brand name: Deprenyl.

The drug has been around for quite a while actually. Used primarily for Parkinsons and for anti-aging - specifically the mental decline that aging can cause. It's pretty good at slowing down the symptoms of parkinsons. I know the company that has/had the rights to it in Canada was toying with the idea of adding it to pet food in an anti-aging capacity.
I don't think it's used for ADHD, but there is probably someone out there that's used it sucessfully (?) just a guess. A lot depends on the root cause of the shortage of dopamine - stimulants increase the amount at the synapse and I think that Deprenyl increases availablity further down the "food chain", so to speak.
