I am feeling slightly disoriented, slightly dopey. I am on day 3 of switching over to wellbutrin. I already take adderall. Has anyone else had this effect and how long did it last? Its not a feel-good dopey but a slightly drunk (dizzy??) without the euphoria.

I think what I am feelin may also be from the withdraw from my previous antidepressant. I feel like yuck!
I felt a little dizzy wit hwelbutrin for a while. I also have vertigo due to inner ear issues, so the dizzyness from welbutrin is no biggie. I adapted to it very quickly.

I couldn't shake the dopiness from wellbutrin, and it was affecting my performance at work. I added a stimulant to help, but I still couldn't shake it, so stopped taking it.
You can maybe give yourself more time to get used to the wellbutrin, and see if the dopiness goes away. Then, if it's helping with ADD and you want to stay on it for that, maybe speak to your doc about taking a stimulant to counter the dopiness. If that doesn't work, I guess you'll have to decide if the dopiness is worth it for the ADD benefit you get from it.
I've never heard of this effect myself. Once, when my dosage was increased too high, though, I had a little episode where I became acutely very confused for a few minutes. I called my doc immediately and we dropped the dosage back down again. I think I'd give a call to the doc's office and see what they say about it. (Can't hurt, anyway, can it?)

Yesterday the dopiness lasted way into the evening so I think it is not necessarily from the wellbutrin but the withdraw from the antidepressant. I am already on adderall.

I thought "feeling dopey" was one of the usual symptoms of ADD............no?
Well, ok, then......in my case maybe just being dopey but not necessarily feeling it....................... :faint:

Its more like feeling my head is 3 feet thick and my thoughts are moving in slow motion. I slept a lot last night and today and feel slightly better. I don't feel any of the stimulating effects.
I usually don't get much of a stimulant effect unless I take too much. When I do that, I often feel irritated, even agressive.

I figured out by reading a description at another site that what I am doing is called 'brain shivers' and is from the antidepressant withdrawl. It sucks big time! I am hoping to continuewith wellbutrin and that it will over ride this withdrawl effect. I am getting a rash though.... I had photosensitity on the cymbalta and this appeared to be the same but now its on parts of my body that don't see the sun
I may start another post on the skin rashes from wellbutrin.

The 'brain shivers' I had was most definitely from the withdrawl from the other antidepressant. It was awful! I think the skin rash was from that too because I had photosensitivity with the old AD and as I withdrew from that one my skin rash became worse. Today I was out in the sun all day and no photosensitivity.
