My psychiatrist, who happens to be an adhd specialist, switched me from 36 mg concerta to 20mg ritalin 3x a day. That wasn't lasting all day so he added a 4th dose. 20mg wasn't enough so he increased it to 30mg 4x a day. It seems to be helping but this is a huge dose is it not? I'm not really having bad side effects.

Not really bad side-effects, but ....?

Dont you feel different after taking 2nd, 3rd, 4th dosage?

Usually 2nd,3rd,4th dosage can be less than 1st dosage. 50% – 66% should keep the meds level.

It might be for some, but it cannot be categorically defined as a large dose...each and every person differs.

If you aren’t having intolerable side-effects, and you are seeing benefit, and this is prescribed by your doctor who is engaged with your treatment, then you are good to go.

Cheers,
Ian

Yeah I've noticed taking 40mg in the morning and then 20 for the afternoon dose works better.

When I first joined here years ago I was judgemental about how many mg's people took. I thought because I had googled the sh*t out of these meds, that I knew what the max dose should be for someone. I am not talking about abuse level doses, but higher than normal prescribed doses. I started my treatment 13 years ago taking 15mg dex spanules twice a day and I thought that was on the higher end. I Then moved to adderall.
Tried dex again a while back and was taking 60mg a day, I now take 80mg of adderall xr a day. Unless someone is on here thats obviously looking to get high or is a danger, I try really hard to keep that judgement inside and remember where I came from.
