Once upon a time......

Up until this time, ...........

...........for the time being.

.........time and time again.

ooops! times up!

The movie is over.

Why do we keep running out of time again and again?

clocks, deadlines, watches calendars, agendas, planners, palm pilots, schedules, beepers........................................... ......................????????????

We are all given 24 hours in the day but it doesn't seem to go very far!!
How can we make room for time?

It's because we have to over commit to stay interested. Just plodding along doing the same thing is boringo! (I just made that word up - cool eh?)

If I have two tasks I just sit there. If I have 20 I'll fly.

Sort of self destructive in a way because if I spent 20x time on any project it would turn out great. Or really really bad. I just know it would be a lot of something!

okay......
if you have time, I have some thoughts on the subject.

"Slooooow down, you move too fast, you've got to make the morning last....skipping down the cobblestones and feel'n Groovy......"

Let's just concentrate on one thing at a time, now.

Pretend you have all the Time in the world.......sweetheart.

Go about the things you are doing like it is the only thing worth doing?

Stop running and be willing to hop, skip, and jump?

Is time always moving?

Can time stand still? Has it happened to you?
Because it has happened to me.

When I try that I get all squirmy like a puppy. Then I can't do anything but sit around and wiggle a lot. Sigh.

Maybe I have a recessive wiggly gene.

Motorbrain, I don't have time for this......it is so boringo ;)

I fly too......most times there are 20 things to do...much more motivating that way. It is the rush....no pun intended.:)

Maybe it's a deep craving for "excitamation"!

That excitamation is one groovy thing! Me like it.

Maybe frenzy fuels us. I know that sometimes I just like to take off like a rocket and blaze through tasks.

Other times it's like moving through syrup.

Maybe I need to go get some of that excitamation in an easy to apply spray bottle.

Just don't put the syrup in the excitamation bottle.

I have a sticky fetish, big time.

I know you are trying to stay on task, but please stop squoiming. You are making me noivous.

Back to time and frenzy. 2 am here....I am a creature of the night.
My internal clock is happening right about now.

I am also am able to maintain great endurance in the wee hours and over extended periods of time if the occasion should arise.

Painted a 4x5ft canvas beginning last Thursday at midnight and had it ready for Sunday am......deadline. I painted 36 hours and beat the freak'n clock!
That'll teach it.

Dayum! That's amazin'! I don't think I've ever done anything for 36 hours... What's cool is you beat the deadline! What an awsome feeling that must be.

I wish I could free myself to paint. I tend to get too representational due to my training as an illustrator. That I just like cartooning too much. Maybe someday I'll invest in canvas, paint and brushes. Then Zoooooom! I'll make something!

I'm glad there are other night owls around these parts. It's so quiet round here this time of night!

Post up some paintings I would love to see em!

BTW. Isn't sticky fun?

The only time it's not is when I've been sitting in a vinyl chair too long. Then sticky is bad. Very bad!

I thought I told you to stay on task, so I will take the TIME to tell you a little bit about my TIME in a sticky situation.

My 10 year old was eating biscuits.....with an open jar of honey on the table. I thought he was so cute and leaned over to nibble his ear.....as I did, my hair fell neatly into the jar of honey. I did not notice until I had spread sticky across the entire kitchen.....between my fingers, toes, and under my armpits.

I had a very, very bad TIME :)

Honey is an interesting food, it can be sticky fun or sticky not fun  :) i guess it depends when you use it  :eyebrow: :soapbox: :) .

I think it is all about learning to enjoy the moment that is now. i know i try to do so, since i am a lot like you motorbrain , i feel better in rush situation, the more i have to do the more focus and productive i become. Always at the last minute that's me. I try to stop and force myself to look up to the sky, look around and enjoy my surroundings, some people do it naturally, now i am about 60 % natural about it, the next 40% i have to talk with myself .

Does time stand still?
Has it ever happened to you?

Some ways that time stands still to me.....

- Do you ever get lost in a book? This may be hyperfocus.

- Lost in music's rapture?

My mother who is not ADD has never gotten lost.....except in a parking lot :D

- How about while pulling weeds or planting bulbs?

_ While you are watching a sleeping child?

- While you are reading the Sunday paper in bed with your significant other..

-While taking delight in a sunset or beautiful mountain overlook..

_Sitting in a Charleston garden at dawn just as the birds begin to sing...no other sound can mimic the joy this brings on a dewy morning.

-While creating a work of art....I am always amazed when I look at the clock and see that the hands have barely moved.

-Taking an Art History class with an animated and passionate teacher.

-During prayer and meditation.

Are you ever lost in time? When does time stand still for you?

far beyond the things you see

time rolls on eternally

got a thing about it

just can't live without it

sitting there inside your mind

just waiting for the clock to chime

[when time stood still]

Hi Woodsman.....thank you for the poem.

I forgot about how sloooooow time can go
when waiting for the clock to chime,

or the water to boil,
or you are waiting in the doctor's office

or you are on a trip for vacation...

are we there yet??????
