Ok the title say alot but my problem is I just got a new web cam but I can't make it work. Does anyone out there have any idea on how to make it work. :) :) I have linux 9.2 i think or 9.1 one of those two not the newest version although if it would be good I can get the newest version. My dad has already baought it.
What distribution of Linux? Mandrake? Slackware? We'd need to know what web cam too. Model numbers and manufacture to make a start.
I actually took time to install Knoppix on a hard drive tonight. :D
Cheers!

That's how many distros you've got on the go now? :D
Ichpuchtli,I apologise if i'm just pointing out the obvious here :D you are going to have to find some linux coded versions of the drivers required for your camera.
I avoided driver issues for everything as I dual boot with windows xp,transfer my files onto xp,and through linux,I transfer them over, the only downside to that is having to bother booting xp. :D
Emma, I can't seem to take time to get away from a very lazy install of Fedora to my shame. ;) When I get a minute I'll ask some questions about booting XP and *nix.
Here are some web notes on web cams and Linux.
slashdot of course.
