If this is your work, Davehawk, I have to let you know that I find it incredibly talented.
I love the 'fear/protective/weariness' reflection in the one closeup sketch of the bear's eyes.

The texture and detail in those landscape sketches are really good Dave. You do these just from the top of your head? Capt Kylos

Capt, yep. All my land scapes are pick a point to start and I like to let the pen run. Sooner or later a scean emerges. If not, I get real creative LOL

It's how you 'capture' the truth, of the moment, as you 'see' it, that I relate to..
I am able to do that, with mere words..and only in doing so, while being reflective of mine or another's thoughts..but only during trusting moments...
Which, I sadly admit, is far and few inbetween life's action...
I admire your ability in always being 'allowed' to do so.

I am able to do that, with mere words.. Nova, I am in allow of writers who can reach inside and express their thoughts, few time I have done so that matches my art but I have failed so many times I gave it up. Writers like Poe were great molders of my imagination.

Thanks for the kind words. Their are pushing me forward. To work harder.

Great stuff, Dave!

It kind of makes me want to post some of my work. And create more. I have trouble getting inspired though.

I've only ever done one pen and ink project. I mostly use pencils, paints, or computer art.

Anyway, this is a thumbnail version of my lone pen and ink project. It was for a high school art class. It's a character from the movie Willow. (I don't know the name of the character since I never saw the movie, but as I said, I have a hard time getting inspired, so I worked from a magazine pic that caught my eye)

Not to sound 'malicious', Brazil...and I'm trying to convey that tone...believe me..I am trying..
But....how do you figure, that Dave's excelled attributions, in personifying emotion via artwork, have anything to do with 'treatment for ADD' ?

You either own the talent or you don't.

Meds have nothing to do with 'creating them', nor squelching them, much to the dismay of those who want to use ADD/HD as a form of 'martyrdom', as a cause of 'drying up' of the well of creativity, within them. That has to do with outside stress factors.

You don't just 'create' a talent, after being medicated..It doesn't happen with prescription meds for ADD/HD...It may, however, happen with some illicit drugs...but that's not what, I am pertaining to, on this post.

Dave, once again, I commend you for your talent, and truly appreciate it!
I am going to Cleveland's Art Museum, for the last time, tomorrow, before I move.
You're going to have to give me insight to Baltimore's Art Museum, so I am able to enjoy that, upon relocation.

Thank you! For being you, and being able to share your talent, with us !

Hi Regional Forum Leader,

I really like Dave's artwork!

But I have to say something to you:

-First of all, I am trying my best to express my thoughts in English; I'm still trying to learn.
(If the problem was the way puted the words...)

-Second, I started to read about ADD;

I think 40 days ago; and I start my treatment about 4 weeks ago.

(So, you can see 'if you wanna see of course' I still a little bit green);

"OH that is just an excuse", but still...

Third, I don't know Dave's history, the only thing that I know about him;

that he is an amazing talented artist!

I was just trying to find out about the conection between criative skills and ADD;

I am just trying to learn, I think that's the goal of the most people in this forum...

and when I saw Dave's artwork I thought he was the perfect person to be asked about it.

"You either own the talent or you don't."
(my opnion is: I agree with you;

but, is it possible someone that has the talent and just cannot see it?

Because maybe that person has a brain that is not working very well,

and maybe need some help; and with a professional hand,

someday that person discouver that she or he has the skills to develop and create beautiful things.

MAYBE... COULD BE? I think so...

"Meds have nothing to do with 'creating them"
(You didn't read meds in my words...)

To finish,

Thank you so much Nova!
(The most words that I wrote in this message,
I didn't know how to write before;
you made myself to get the diccionary to write you back!!!
I know, I know my English still ugly! But, better than before!!!!!!!!!

It's absolutely possible. The only way to know is to try. If you're not satisfied with the results at first, try again to see if you can improve. Also, taking an art class can help develop tecniques

Barzil, I don't take offence to it ;

I did not find out I was ADHD till 5 years ago when I was 46. I never know why I caould spend so much time conscentrating on my work. They call it Hyper Focusing, which I would do for hour at a time. I would sit down to draw and find 5 - 6 hours had passed. I could not just sit for a few minites and do it caouse I would get lost in my work. Their is nothing else I do like that except hunt.
