My ADD dad.
Every year he gives me a gift for my birthday and 30 percent of the time he will give me a repeat gift !

He knows that I like clowns. One year he gave me A large jointed Italian porcelain doll. The doll was about 2 ft long, and dressed in red and purple silk....a court jester. Very memorable and special :)

The following year he gave me the same doll :D

My mother collects Angels and Firemen/Cop statues and is espcially tickled if their firemen/cop statues with wings. We have a lot of public servants in our family and we are extremely proud of their service.

Anyways, one year for Christmas my sister, father, brother and myself gave her the same fire fighter angel. She was so tickled, one sits on the left and right of her mantle the other in the middle and she told us "I've been trying for years to get that thing balanced" the other she has next to her bed on the nightstand.

I've given her angels by accident that she has already had lol
She like you doesn't complain she just sets them together as if their a set or has used on heavier set as bookends. It helps that she too is ADD and creative.

Luckily, my mother has been my only victim. lol

Hey good for you!! I am a 'public' servant, but in another 'division' of one of those fields.

I started collecting those 'precious moments' statues when I was younger.. I bought a few that had some meaning to me...

I ended up with over 150 of them, because that was all people bought me, for every occassion...

I had no room for them anymore, so I started giving them away.

And I won't buy someone the same collectible because of that, unless they really love the idea.

Books in a series, though, I will buy, but only if they love the author, and the series.
