Posted this in the AdultADD but didn't get a good response just wondering if anyone here has more to say?

Been doing a lot of research on Interactive Metronome Training, and wanted to know if anyone on her knows someone or is someone who tried this and how were the results. I'm seriously considering this and I would like to hear from someone besides a trainer or from the Interactive Metronome website itself. It just seems to me that if it worked so well than why isn't everyone with ADD using it???

I think a few factors come into play here, NITRO.

First, everyone and their grandmother (sorry Grandma) promises all sorts of benefits for every snake oil remedy solution out there. IMHO there needs to be some really compelling research results for me to consider an alternative to the successful treatment that works for me.

Second, one of the challenges with ADD is that a solution/treatment option that works great for one person, can be a resounding failure to the very next person that tries it. Consistent results would go a long way, with any ADD treatment, in convincing many to try it.

Third...Cost. Expensive solutions that only have a chance of working, and are most likely not covered by most people's insurance usually keep most folks away.

Fourth...Time commitment. As an ADDer, committing to anything for a length of time has to produce immediate results, or I'm going to lose interest. Combine that with the uncertainty of consistent results, cost, and the fact that my medication works just fine are all factors for why I personally have not tried this solution.

Does it work? Perhaps, but I personally will likely never try it to find out.
