so iv'e been usin concerta 36mg for about 3 weeks now, its been really big help in my life, but it has the downside of losing appetite. does it last forever, or will it go away? or will loss of appetite remain but get slighter over time?

It last forever.
It kind of sucks.
But you get used to it.

For most people, this effect is worse at the beginning and gets better later. It might go away completely, or it might always be there but not as bad. For a few people, it just stays bad.

I've never seen anything in the literature that suggests the anorectic quality of psychostimulants lessens over time.

I don't recall many anecdotes to that effect either.

Dextroamphetamine is a potent inhibitor of appetite for me, but nothing beats methylphenidate in this regard.

Perhaps people just notice it more at first then? I don't know.
