Does anyone out there know if us ADDers are protected by the ADA? In my opinion we are being discrimenated because of our disability if our employer lays us off and we are a better worker than a non ADDer. The only diferece is that we say stupid things and do other ADD stuff. If we are curently taking medication and seeking counceling for our disability, arnt we intitled to job protection under the ADA?

ADA protections do extend to neurological/mental conditions such as ADD, depression, bipolar disorder, etc., as long as you meet the criteria for "disability" set in the Act, as long as you are otherwise qualified to perform the "essential functions" of your position with or without accomodation. See http://ncfsfa.org/Patients/ada.htm for a more extensive discussion than I am prepared to type into this little box. ;)

That's nice unless you work at a indian casino, being a soverign nation the ADA is one set of federal laws they are not required to obey. But just the same I love(?) my job and it is a good place to work.
