If you scroll down far enough on this page you will find a short free sample enneagram test.

I got a tie between type 5&7. Both description types seem pretty accurate.

Heres what it said about me:
Type Five
The Investigator
The perceptive, cerebral type. Fives are alert, insightful, and curious. They are able to concentrate and focus on developing complex ideas and skills. Independent, innovative, and inventive, they can also become preoccupied with their thoughts and imaginary constructs. They become detached, yet high-strung and intense. They typically have problems with eccentricity, nihilism, and isolation. At their Best: visionary pioneers, often ahead of their time, and able to see the world in an entirely new way.

Type Seven
The Enthusiast
The busy, productive type. Sevens are extroverted, optimistic, versatile, and spontaneous. Playful, high-spirited, and practical, they can also misapply their many talents, becoming over-extended, scattered, and undisciplined. They constantly seek new and exciting experiences, but can become distracted and exhausted by staying on the go. They typically have problems with impatience and impulsiveness. At their Best: they focus their talents on worthwhile goals, becoming appreciative, joyous, and satisfied.

Awesome, you happen to know your MBT?? I got a tie on that one too, ENFP/INFP. I took a class about all these personality tests and other things. It was supposed to be to help with choosing a career. It was wayyyyyyy fun cuz Im into this sort of stuff. You heard of the IPIP-NEO? Its really long and boring to take but its soooooo accurate. It gives you a complete profile of like 25 aspects of your personality. I found that one expecially interesting looking at the scores in certain things like organization, orderliness, cautiousness level, etc. I could totally see where my ADHD symptoms come into play as a part of my personality.

Heres the link:
http://www.personalitytest.net/ipip/ipipneo1.htm
For your own sake, go with the what they call the "short" version. The other one is way way wayyyy too long and gets unbelievibly boring and repetitive after the first page.

I'll do that one tomorrow or the day after... need to get to sleep now, although I don't want to...

I have taken MBT, I come up INTJ and sometimes INTP.

Type 2 & Type 8

The Helper
The caring, interpersonal type. Twos are empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs. At their Best: unselfish and altruistic, they have unconditional love for others.

The Challenger
The powerful, aggressive type. Eights are self-confident, strong, and assertive. Protective, resourceful, straight-talking, and decisive, but can also be ego-centric and domineering. Eights feel they must control their environment, especially people, sometimes becoming confrontational and intimidating. Eights typically have problems with their tempers and with allowing themselves to be vulnerable. At their Best: self-mastering, they use their strength to improve others' lives, becoming heroic, magnanimous, and inspiring.

Type Three and Seven

The Achiever

The adaptable, success-oriented type. Threes are self-assured, attractive, and charming. Ambitious, competent, and energetic, they can also be status-conscious and highly driven for advancement. They are diplomatic and poised, but can also be overly concerned with their image and what others think of them. They typically have problems with workaholism and competitiveness. At their Best:: self-accepting, authentic, everything they seem to be—role models who inspire others.

(YUCK! If we have a good and a bad side - this is my bad side)

(I'd like to say this is my good side. Now if I only could blend the two and really achieve something worthwhile... :D )

I just love these kinds of tests! :D

Highest: Type 7 (7 pts. for Type 7--heh heh!) "The Enthusiast"
Second highest: Type 4 (6 pts.) "The Individualist"
Tie for third: Types 2 and 9 (5 pts) "The Helper" and "The Peacemaker," respectively.

I found the descriptions/explanations to be eerily accurate in my case....

What troubles me about forced choice tests is when what is noteworthy about me isn't one or the other, but unusually high mounts of BOTH.

Type Four
The Individualist (http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/TypeFour.asp)
The introspective, romantic type. Fours are self-aware, sensitive, and reserved. They are emotionally honest, creative, and personal, but can also be moody and self-conscious. Withholding themselves from others due to feeling vulnerable and defective, they can also feel disdainful and exempt from ordinary ways of living. They typically have problems with melancholy, self-indulgence, and self-pity.
At their Best: inspired and highly creative, they are able to renew themselves and transform their experiences.

yep, that's me!

Actually, one thing worth mentioning: I HATE multiple choice questions like these. Either I find none fits (but the script forces you too choose) or there are too many opitions that inter-link.

I have the worst experience with online tests that compose of "choose how this affects you from 1-5". I have NO idea how to rate different levels and usually just end up choosing the middle ground (3) hehe. That, or "indifferent"

online tests, i do the same as you!
other (i e paper) tests: it usually ends with my simply crossing out numbers 4-5 (or 10 or whatever...), and using 3, 2 and 1 for "yes/always", "sometimes/a little" and no/never"...
just *can't* see the difference between 7 or 8 - think it's just plain *STUPID*!!!

and had a 3 way tie with:

Type Six
The Loyalist
The committed, security-oriented type. Sixes are reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy. Excellent "troubleshooters," they foresee problems and foster cooperation, but can also become defensive, evasive, and anxious—running on stress while complaining about it. They can be cautious and indecisive, but also reactive, defiant and rebellious. They typically have problems with self-doubt and suspicion. At their Best: internally stable and self-reliant, courageously championing themselves and others.

Type Seven
The Enthusiast
The busy, productive type. Sevens are extroverted, optimistic, versatile, and spontaneous. Type Nine

The easy-going, self-effacing type. Nines are accepting, trusting, and stable. They are usually creative, optimistic, and supportive, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace. They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent, simplifying problems and minimizing anything upsetting. Outside my system and routine, I blow up. I like it in my authoritative shell of habit and I take orders well, I just don't always finish the job, hehe.

Type One
The Reformer
The principled, idealistic type. Ones are conscientious and ethical, with a strong sense of right and wrong. They are teachers, crusaders, and advocates for change: always striving to improve things, but afraid of making a mistake. Well-organized, orderly, and fastidious, they try to maintain high standards, but can slip into being critical and perfectionistic. They typically have problems with resentment and impatience. At their Best: wise, discerning, realistic, and noble. Can be morally heroic..

Ahmm...well, that's ok except for the well-organized and orderly part. I know where everything is, but that doesn't mean it's organized. Heh

I need to retake the Myers-Briggs Test, it's been a long time since I've taken it. I was an INTP before, but I've also been an ISTP, and an INTJ in the past...I'll edit and report back with it.

INTJ -
Introvert - 22
Intuitive - 22
Thinking - 44
Judging - 22

For the record, this is not on a clinically administered test, but since that's the same result I got last time I took the clinical test, I think this one is pretty close. http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

I also found this a hard test to take ... I didn't like most of the choices they gave me! Wound up with a three-way tie between Individualist, Investigator, and Enthusiast. I think I exemplify the ADD characteristics of the Enthusiast type, not so much the "productive" aspects.
