I don't think my diet is anything but good sense for anyone. It's basically what diabetics use. I'm not really up tight about it and often stray a long way from the straight and narrow on food.

I have come to believe that I feel better in a holistic way if I avoid hot carbs. Potatoes, bread, white rice, pasta and of course sugar.

When I first started to try and eat other things I could hardly figure out what to have instead!

A can of tuna, salmon, sardines, a slice of cheese and a lot more vegetables. Fruits are sweet so I don't eat as much of them as I do the veggies. I had to increase my "insoluble" fibre by taking on four or five tables spoons of finely ground flax seed to make the mix work correctly.

I take a big table spoon of cod liver oil every day, cut way back on the coffee and generally got busy doing other things instead of hurting myself. I sleep better and I certainly function better.

I do not attribute my changes to diet exclusively. It's only been one of the things I "could" change for the better and did.

The funny thing is that now that I'm running as much as I am I have a tremendous need for and love of carbohydrates. It still helps if I stick to the complex ones like lentils, peas, beans and such. I had a big bowl of carbonara pasta last week like I hadn't even looked at in years and it went down very well. I love it when the mechanics of my body are working hard enough to be so much more resilient.
Cheers! Ian.

I'm avoiding caffiene (green tea exception) and dairy.

Plus anything that pumps my blood sugar. Processed foods mostly.

The difference in concentration levels are remarkable.

I now avoid caffiene and dounuts, that was my stimulant for 37 year, I now have increased my fiber and fruits and vegetables , I do lay into a THICK JUICY PORTER HOUSE ocassionaly though. The results from reducing the carbo's though have made a differance for me as far as how my stomach feels.Though my appetite has increased when I was put on adderall, I like to eat and sleep all day long now, maybe I'm narcoleptic? but maybe I shouldn't be feeling so relaxed?it sure beets feeling unfocused and fidgetty witha racing mind berfore I started the aderall. The dr. is wanting me to now try DESOXSYN (methanpheamine), he says it has more coverage on the brain stem then aderall and might work much better for me with my ADHD disorder, I feel better maybe I should Take 30mg's 2x a day.Well I'll see Dr. on thursday this week, and get it all worked out.

Best...........chris m.

Been using the Feingold diet for about 30 years now. I understand that it's fallen into disfavor since it was introduced but there is a group of people for whom it is helpfull. I still have ADD symptoms on the diet which require medication but when I go off they get much, much worse.
