I got a referral (from a colleague) for an ADHD specialist here;
I finally contacted him and I have an appointment schdeuled for the first week of September! :yes:

I thought there would be a waiting list for several months, especially with the summer holidays here.

Well I will let you know how this goes :)

It is life changing!!

I've been on Vyvanse for a little less than a month (after a terrible experience with IR Ritalin 5 years ago), and it's already making a big difference in my life. But I'm also discovering that it's not a silver bullet that will solve all my ADHD related problems. Some of them remain.

Ok, diagnosed now and I have a precription for meds

( this said, before my mind went blank as he was explaining the meds:)

Omg
The pharmacy by work yesterday had ritalin
Si i just took 10 mg ( an hour ago)
Placebo effect or wishful thinking
But my thoughts are quieter
They are the same thoughts
But they are not pulling me in 10 directions
I should be distressed, its saturday, im running late
Realised I had no cash so i just went to the atm without the stabbing panic thought
Crowded boulangerie and i put change in wallet without fumbling while struck by the smell of warm baguette in bag

The bread is one of the things I miss most about France.

I lived in France for 4 years from the time I was 12 until I was 16 and I've returned many times since then. I usually stay in the same small hotel which is next to a boulangerie and one of the things I look forward to most when I'm there is breakfast each morning with a freshly baked baguette, croissants, jam, and coffee with milk or hot chocolate. And then in the evening, I would sometimes go to a charcuterie and buy some pâté and rillette and get a baguette and some cheese and a bottle of wine and eat in my hotel room. It was all great, but it's the bread I miss most!

Super!Quand je prenez concerta cetter la même chose pour moi. J'étais nee en France, mais on a déménagé aux canadas quand j'étais cinq ans, peut être un jour je vais retourner.
[Mod note: Posts should be in English, s'il vous plaît, per ADDF guidelines. ;) Translation: Super! When I take Concerta, it's the same for me. I was born in France, but we moved to Canada when I was 5, maybe one day I'll return.]

Thanks for sharing! Keep us posted on how the meds are working for you. I just got diagnosed after many many months of debating whether to seek help. Best of luck to you!!

thank you :)
This is my 5th day of ritalin, i went to 20 mg
Im quite pleased.
the very best effect is that i am just so much less anxious, overall, because my thoughts are clearer so i am less scattered. but they are still my thoughts!

OMG
I went grocery shopping on meds!
it was awesome
ok i figured this out:
the difference is, my thoughts don't cancel each other out!
i was in canned vegetables, needed kidney beans: but then there are the green beans right in front of me and i thought, now i should really buy those, so i put them in my cart;
but then, i simply stepped over to the left , and got the kidney beans; ok, canned goods done, on to dairy.

OMG the constant distress I have lived with....

I find it much more difficult in the states, I'm so used to it here now.

Congrats!! I know exactly what you are feeling! Such a relief to finally know and have hope for improvement. I was just diagnosed myself and looking forward to starting meds soon. Supposed to see my doctor again on October 5 for my prescription. Feels like it will be a fresh start, doesn't it? :)

I'm still waiting on my appointment with the psychiatrist the 9th of October for medication...a lot of people tell me i shouldn't because they had some bad experiences, but things are only getting worse. So i like to read about your experiences!

I have issues shopping here as there are too many choices and I can't decide. I would do much better in a place with less and I think Europe has less choices than the US, correct?
