Hi,
First off. I'm completely frustrated with my neurologist since he seems to shuffle me in and out as quickly as possible, so I never really get to discuss treatment options with him. So I'm here looking for the kinds of information I should be getting from him.
Anyway, I believe that I am ADHD-inattentive based on information I've read. (the neurologist only diagnosed ADHD, not subtype)
I was first given Ritalin-LA 10mg. At first I saw some benefit, then not so much. It makes me fidgetty, and also has other effects that make me not want to keep taking it. The last time I saw the doctor. Last time he gave me Concerta 18mg, and told me I could try increasing the dosage of the Ritalin. But the fidgettiness and other effects makes me wonder if I really want to go that route. And as far as I can tell, Concerta is just a different formulation of Ritalin-LA that's a bit shorter-lived.
I've seen some posts here that seem to indicate that Dexadrine may work better for the Inattentive type. Is this true? I don't want to keep coming home with a new pill each month only to be disappointed, so I guess I'm looking for feedback on whether Dexadrine might be the right way, or something else?
