View Full Version : Appointment tomorrow, Equivalency questions..

So I left my last doctor after another blunder on his part. I switched from 20mg 3x Adderall IR to 30mg XR 2x and I hate the XR after a month so then I asked to switch to vyvanse 70mg 2x. He said I would have to see a specialist to get a higher than 70mg dose. Funny thing is on Vyvanse/Shire website when you search for a doctor HE IS LISTED AS ONE!

Well I went to fill the script and it was written for 60 pills 70mg. I get all 3 scripts at once so I see the doctor every quarter. I went to fill month 2 and they wouldn't let me because the doctor wrote 60 pills 1 a day..... so basically he gave me 6 months worth of vyvanse 30 pills a month (Pretty sure its illegal to write more than 3 months at a time. I called the doctor and he said he messed up so now I am leaving him

I have an appointment tomorrow with a new doctor who will hopefully continue writing my scripts. I have read before on here that:

Vyvanse 30 mg = Adderall XR 10 mg
Vyvanse 50 mg = Adderall XR 20 mg
Vyvanse 70 mg = Adderall XR 30 mg

Is this true? If so that means the 70mg 2x would be equivalent to my dose of adderall. I need to know how to go about speaking about this to my new doctor since the "recommended" dose is 70mg max but I know that a lot of people have multiple doses.
